I guess it has already been mentioned but for the sweet graphics (nearly bf3 level) that you can see in that video, animations are pretty poor at the moment. I wonder, do you guys think they can still improve on that before release?
I think that some improvements are still possible, especially for transition animations. Though I'm not expecting miracles
I don't know, looks pretty good to me...
by the way some of the animations are obviously placeholders (the healing one for instance is straight from arma2)
As always, ArmA 3 looks great but we have a slight issue with the game’s LOD. As it’s obvious from the helicopter screenshot, the LOD needs a little bit work as the environment look blurry when you’re flying.

It's DOF what irritates you, not LOD!
If it's like ArmA 2, postprocessing effects on low et voilà, no more derp blur and vaseline!
Arma3 is set in 2030 if I recall correctly, so they can use whatever plausible tech they can think of. And since we already have guns that work perfectly fine under water (special bullets to minimize drag, for example), there is nothing weird about it.

good argument... 2030.
but its still strange, probably a clumsy deal shooting and waving your legs at same time to swim... and a very bad position for combat, for example against a helicopter above you.
I only have very rudimentary understanding of scuba diving, but there is a ballast on the divers. They can balance out the gravity vs floating and can be completely still at a given depth. I don't expect ARMA to model a total simulation of diving, like eDiving does for example, but it's 2030, and it's military hardware from the future. I'm sure they can eliminate the need to paddle while not moving.
