Sooooooo... being a fella that's not exactly broke but that has to spend ~260€ every month on car payments amongst other things, I really don't have the € to upgrade to that sweet i5-2500K
However I was bit shocked yesterday after seeing the price of a gigabyte P55-UD3L mobo getting slashed from ~140€ to 50€ and that got my tiny brain running with thoughts of an upgrade for the rest of the day.
It would cost me ~200€ to get all the stuff, versus 300€+ on a socket 1155 upgrade.
So... is it worth it or not? Does it overclock well too, for those who owned one?
I'd be upgrading from an old Q8300 + DDR2 memory so it seems like a no-brainer but I'd like to hear some opinions (or better suggestions) first.

If I'm honest, a 650 would still be a bit of a waste, how expensive is a 750/760?

But that's just my opinion of course | It's also a matter of how much money I'll spend on an upgrade versus saving it for better but more expensive hardware too.
I've been watching the socket 1155 prices for a while now and there were virtually no changes on the last ~10 months...

And realize that even my actual Q8300 seems to be a 4 cores - 4 threads CPU
Do not want the 650 then... 750 it is, assuming I will go forward on this.

Just put cash aside and buy when you can afford a Ivy cpu 1155 setup.
Would be a great upgrade.

Just did some maths and I'd be able to get the i5-750 + mobo + 4GB DDR3 for ~220€... but I think I'll go back to the wait and see mode, though times to spend that amount of money.

Save your cash and wait until you can afford 1155 + 2500k or corresponding Ivy.
