spawned hacked items tend to not have icons for them as they dont match and are not saved via the games database.. so if u even have a weapon that is a in game item and has no icon for it in backpack give it a burial on a zombie.

its not the point, the ones with icons are deemed ok if ur picking them up off a kill you made.. anyone that does not script cant know if they were out a crate.. you will not get banned unless it was seem you spawned it oneself .. rocket has already mentioned using spawned in game weapons will not get you a global ban, its down to each server admin to check the logs and see how you got them.
it fucking blows though cause now they are being so blatant about it they are spawning in on beach new throwing down a crate and taking the goods and going north.. sucks.. hope the ones that keep it up eventually end up having to pay pay pay for new OA's

even ingame weapons have different internal databese names than the official spawned versions, thats how they know it was spawned.

Interesting. Still, I won't touch hacked stuff because it's wrong and destroys the point of the mod.

Spawned at the coast, next to balota airfield... Went there, grabbed me a nice shotgun and ammunition... a hunting knife, some meat and a hunting knife.. Then when I was about to move to the main building I heard a humming and lay down in cover immediately... Apparently some guys found an army truck! And it looked as if they were driving from place to place, to loot everything! At least one guy entered the driving truck (I spied on them from faaar away), and he was equipped with a cool rifle... Good thing, that I didn't try to contact em Pretty tense I'm going to play a little, if anybody wants to join, I'm on TS

the new hotfix(1.7.1.1. , .2 isnt out yet) made zombies made zombies seem way better to me. Realistic LOS, at least most realistic so far.

Dunno how the fuck you can say that regarding LOS...
I had 4 zombies near in view yesterday and whilst crouching and walking slow managed to avoid all whilst they were walking away. I managed to agro a zombie who was FUCKING miles away for absolutely no reason 2x in my playtimes yesterday.
Since the no weapon patch I haven't survived more than 10 minutes at a time.
Hilarious moment was spawning and being close to another guy without a weapon, chatting on voice "Hey man, Im unarmed so go easy" "me too, lets see if we can find some weapons"
Nice and close and chatting away which was fun, he then decides to go one way round a house, i go the other... about 10 seconds later he bolts past me with about 5 zombies chasing me shouting "Save yourself!! I'm done for!"
Pure hilarity.
As a noob in this game your chance of survival is basically ZERO for the first hour.
You need luck on loot drops, since the hotfix that got dumped last night I hear the loot tables have started working again so higher chance of survival at least, plus melee weapons but I read servers are dying due to a ammo bug on the melee weapons?
Still fun though.
Aeon, i bought it to support the dev. I dont buy many games but if a dev shows he is trying something new and patching frequently and communicating with the public, i'll support him.
If you decide to grab it, hit me up a message and we'll start together. Hilarity ensues I guarentee.. Plus we might actually survive long enough to get a weapon.
He needs to change the logout bug though, if you are getting swamped with zombies. Log out and into another server and you appear same place but no agroed zombies... Silly bug which should be patched, you should remain logged in like 2 minutes after or remain logged in permanentely until death if you have mobs agroed against you.

or get just operation arrowhead directly from the bohemia interactive store and normal arma II "iso demo" ... No need to use arma II free, you'll just have blurry textures...

You don't pay for the mod. The mod is free. You just need original Operation Arrowhead.
@Jippy: There is already a DayZ chan in TS and yes, I'm actually there when I'm playing Also I try to post here when I'm ready to play
Also even if rocket should drop for DayZ, bohemia made some very good sales with it, I guess they'd develop it themselves

Hopefully the immersion is good enough, because it's still an alpha mod on a buggy engine. |
Well, the engine behaves way better than it has on release. That I can assure you
The most recent slowdowns were actually caused by the mod and not by the engine itself. Also badly configured servers will give you low fps too. Many other problems are caused by the people itself too. Very often it ist "I'm gonna try to vault over this barbedwire even though it looks I would squeeze into a tight place and fall through the map" or "climbing this ladder with huge bloodloss is a good idea, i guess"... and bam! they gonna whine in the forums because it's so buggy... really, people who're challenging the possibilities are having a 50% chance that it goes the wrong way. That's only logical
