  • Official web page: LINK
  • Developer: Daedalic Entertainment
  • Publisher: Deep Silver
  • Genre: Adventure
  • Release date: TBA / 2012
  • Story/Description:
    Quote:
The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, a new point & click adventure set in the fantastic world of Aventuria. The game promises to deliver hand-drawn locations in dazzlingly detailed HD, challenging puzzles, an engaging storyline and lovingly animated characters.

The hero is a human called Geron, who struggles to make a living as a trapper. When his home city is suddenly plagued by huge numbers of aggressive crows he sees his chance to prove himself, but is drawn into something much greater...

The story will of course be very connected with The Dark Eye lore and history - it begins in Andergast and moves through the Orklands and some further, surprising pars of Aventuria. We will also encounter some well-known royalty and other characters from the lore. The game is set in the present time.

YAYYY! Another P&C from Daedalic Entertainment. Absolutely loved some of their previous titles such as 'The Whispered World' and 'A New Beginning'. And above all, the art of their scenes is marvelous. ^_^

Looks interesting, I really do enjoy Daedalics Adventures.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It won't be out for a while yet properly so I don't think there's anything, should be a fun game but I won't have time for it at the moment but there's a number of adventure game fans on this site and a number of Dark Eye fans too I believe. Smile

EDIT: Oh great.
Quote:

!C:\Games\ChainsOfSatinav\1Disc\data2.cab: CRC failed in videos\video.vv026. The file is corrupt

(Files downloaded OK and the disc image extracted without error and the files on the disc as well but the files inside these two .cab or rather zip archives had that particular file as faulty, could be a problem.)

EDIT: Don't forget to run the config tool to set up quality options and similar, or just edit config.ini directly. Razz

Yeah I tried it for a bit, some of the animations take a while getting used to but the 2d art is indeed gorgeous.

Not much else to say at the moment, just started but it could be quite good. Smile

EDIT: Seems I'm stuck, I did things in the wrong order and can't proceed now, have to restart, wonder if that was intended.

Does anybody has performance problems with this game? On i5-2500K, 8gb ddr3 ram, and 580GTX , I get 5 fps, even lower. The OS is Win7 Ultimate sp1 64bit.

Anybody has same problem ?

Hmm, I'm on a similar comp using the same OS, and the performance is brilliantly fluid (all maxed out). Most cliched and tired-out suggestion I can lay out is to install the recommended DX and VCredist coming alongside the game. Other than that, it's an unknown road to me as to what's causing that behavior...

Are you forcing anything in the Nvidia control panel? If yes, try to disable that.

The combination of what I did and what it lead to was done while I had missed placing a item in the correct area so after that I then lacked the other items I had used and can't proceed due to this so I had to restart. Smile
(That and pressing space to reveal all hotspots and how combining every item with everything and using everything on every hotspot didn't lead anywhere.)

EDIT:
 Spoiler:

(And as I said above there's still that issue with the corrupt 26th video file.)
