I hope they will release it on Steam, I thought that was the plan from the beginning anyway.
It was the plan, as was DRM-free, but I guess that's been changed now thanks to EA. inXile better hurry up and put out a clarification regarding this, otherwise there's going to be a lot of angry games. You can't even search for Steam on their forum, apparently the word is "too common" and is blocked from searching
They initially said they wanted to release the game DRM-free so from my understanding the game can't be exclusive to Steam, Origin or both. DRM-free in my book means they will release a stand-alone installer, just like with Grimrock, or something that at least doesn't require you to login somehwere and bind the game to an account.
Ah, what do I bother anyway? My copy will arrive here in a shiny box to make visitors jealous .
Pledge Summary
Amount pledged: $55.00
Reward: THE INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY ALL DIGITAL PACKAGE! You get one digital copy of the game DRM free for PC, Mac or Linux, digital soundtrack, digital concept art book, episodic novella part 1 and 2, and premiere access to an early playable beta on steam. This comes with no physical goods to help with VAT, duty and shipping costs for our international fans!
My take on that is it will be something like what OLime said, a standalone copy that's just a bunch of archives with an installer. Much like what you get with GOG, etc. I'm pretty sure they'd be in some potential legal trouble if they suddenly pulled some Origin exclusivity thing, not to mention lose all credibility and forfeit any chance of launching a similar project in the future. I don't think Fargo is that stupid.
While the announcement surprises me, I guess they are looking at EA's offer through the lens of Origin being just another distribution platform like Steam, rather than their usual publisher associations. Speaking of Steam, it would be interesting to know if Valve offers any sort of equivalent offer to small devs, or is willing to do so in the face of EA's announcement. If that were to happen then despite Origin being vile, you'd have to say the competition it introduced at least was a good thing, in this instance for the devs (which in turn ultimately benefits customers in the long run).

I think Im getting 2 digital copies, 1 normal boxed version and one SE edition signed by the team or similar. And the digital copies said nothing about client needed.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

It better be. I'm sick of EA muscling in on everything and if inXile have signed any kind of exclusivity deal, then they can fuck right off.
Why, it never stated exclusivity, it also stated at Kickstarter that:
I guess you missed the part where I said "IF" IF they've signed exclusivity. It doesn't matter what they said at the start, seeing as how this Origin deal (and that was their words; "We've signed a deal") is new. All I'm saying is that I didn't back the company to tie itself to Origin

Excellent, thank you. I'll no doubt choose Steam as my copy anyhow, though that's a choice - I'm glad this "deal" with EA/Origin isn't exclusivity.
RPGs haven’t kept pace with time - they've regressed and even worse, taken pride in less role-
playing than before. Important elements have been lost over time, sacrificed to technology, art
constraints, voice-over expenses, and multi-platform console constraints. Wasteland 2 has no such
limitations, it brings these RPG elements back, takes them out of the attic, and makes them part of
gameplay again.
True RPGs allow options, allow you to make fundamental choices in customization and character
creation, and most importantly, allow you to role-play and make your impact in a living world and see
the consequences around you.
And by consequence, we don't mean token one-node lip service, we mean reactions, even a chain of
reactions that builds over the course of the game.
Okay, just read it. It got me horny, and I fucked my DnD 3.5 Player's Handbook in excitement. Finally, an old school, party-based, deep and tactical RPG... am I ... am I in heaven?

Probably the horny, half-naked women from my area were offended by the word "cleavage". You know, the ones advertised on facebook by adultfriendfinder ads.
