I bet these minimum requirements will be enough to play the game at 640*480 with visuals and texture quality on par with Arma 2 Free, at 20fps average of course Razz

Well, good to hear that they're really focusing on optimization and polishing this time. I've read this countless times from the devs at the BI forums too over the last couple of weeks. Also that it's actually their top priority. I sincerly hope it works out.

The animations are still a bit stiff, but the rest is really good. Also looks like controls are generally more responsive now, which were ArmA 2's biggest "problem" for me Smile

I'm still waiting for an in-depth weapon modding video. I was always fed up by the old system, where they had to make a million different list entries for all kinds of modding combos. Now they supposedly made sure that you can mod the guns the way you like it. there was a little glimpse of it in the demonstration, but not nearly enough.

And then they'd lose their entire fanbase.

It's like djaoni said, they would loose their entire fanbase and their mod community.
You've always Battlefield, CoD or that thing from Codemasters.

Well, there is a ray of hope for the laycrowd in this one. They said that they will actually streamline the experience without the negative connotation of the word. While other games remove features for streamlining, the BIS guys will supposedly keep everything, just make them much more easy to use and less clunky.

only thing i am afraid of is losing all the arma 2 weapons and vehicles, the new island seems very mountainous that seem not to make vehicle combat very attractive Sad

I never actually finished the Arma1&2's campaign (played like 2 missions from both) since they were always riddled with bugs and glitches.. but I had lot of fun with the editor to create some large scale battles. So here is hoping that they have improved the editor.

There's a positive aspect though, finally enemies die realistically with proper ragdolls, ArmA 2 was so terrible under this point of view Very Happy

As long as they don't overdo it. For example I hope they don't give force to bullets (or very minimal). If someone is running in a particular direction, I want his corpse to fall in the way he was moving and not away from the shooter's position. I've always saw the over the top Hollywood stunts ridiculous when people got shot. And ever since the Mythbusters episode that dealt with the matter, there is even less sense of this in games that claim to be realistic. Thankfully, seeing the E3 demo and that town clearing ops, they seem to go in the right direction.

I guess it has already been mentioned but for the sweet graphics (nearly bf3 level) that you can see in that video, animations are pretty poor at the moment. I wonder, do you guys think they can still improve on that before release?
