I didn't have it before, I've enabled it now. Using the Android app. Gonna be fucking annoying to use, but I'll be damned if it happens again (assuming they roll back my character properly - I've got a fucking auction I paid 650k for ready as well). Still no response from them.

so my friend was hacked on friday, i had him on my friend list, i played today in the morning in a public game first time since lunch, then went shopping for two hours, Ii come back login and all my gold i gone, nothing more juist the gold over 1 mill. in recent players i have a lvl 1 character named bfdfg...
Something is really fucked up on blizzard side, because it is impossible they brute forced my password in under two hours, and no i dont have any trojans and loggers.

i dont think its bruteforcing. Account gets locked after like 3 failed attempts.
I really think its a spoof of sorts using public games or whatever. Not on password level anyway, but well past that.

Character restored, but the auction I bid on has "failed" and I haven't received the gold back, so that's 650k down the drain right there. All the stuff I had put on auction myself is either gone or ready to go back to my stash. Also left it on almost 800k last night, it's down to 400 now. Woopdeefuckingdoo, 1m gold down the fucking drain and I don't even know if the last few purchases I made are on my character because I haven't bothered going in game yet (and it's all broken apparently).
That sure makes it much more fun.

Good joke Sin. It's gone, period. It has a red exclamation mark next to it in the list of auctions, no gold nor item in the "success" list.
Shit gets better, they've rolled my character back to thursday or perhaps even wednesday, so basically I'm down about 2m total. Yay for being back on 16K DPS.

I still can't get my head around one of the largest online game companies not having case sensitive passwords, it's truly fucking baffling. Every time I log in I'm half expecting my account to have been cleared of money.

if is a spoofed id, an authentificator is doing nothing, the hacker just log with his user/pass, and get acces to your char.
but blizzard said that no people with authcrap was hacked. so is not any spoofing id.
basically we don't know anything.
i don't have an authentificator, i played shitloads of public games with chinese/russian people included, i used ah to buy/sell, i log out after using ah, i play after using ah, i had no issue until today. what i have (and probably does not matter) is a gmail personal account, and a 12 letter nondictionary password (chars + numbers -> and no, a-4, i-1 and so), no script browser, and strict rules in firewall (any program who wants to access the internet, is blocked by default.). oh yeah, and a crap antivirus. panda free cloud one.
maybe i will get striped, maybe not. but if there was any problem with public games or ah or bnet forum ( was very active during beta, and after lauch), i would probably had been hacked until now.

fuck this game, I won't be going near it for years to come. No fucking way. Fuck you Blizzard. Right up your fucking ass.. Imagine the balls to say it's not them... and no PW case sensetivity is the biggest fag bullshit I've yet to hear about.. Waiting on the real money.. How far are those fags pushing it back to now?

you dont need a smart phone. The sms service only requires a cellphone that can receive text (sms) messages lol. Everyone has that.

Well the sms service ain't the same as the authenticator.
But even so, if you really don't want to pay €5 (or w/e it costs), there are countless ways to emulate android on pc and get the app on the pc

But you can login without getting a sms code right? (because afaik the code is only for changes applied to the account.)

yeah, but it will lock your account at the slightest change (like i said, changing the region was enough lol). So pretty sure that includes your location/ip and probably more (MAC adress etc, who knows).

The ip/location lock is kinda hard to believe for Blizzard, we can test it if you want tho
But still, the sms service won't counter not getting hacked (because stealing items/money doesn't require you to change any account information ).
Not saying that the authenticator will prevent it (because i know enough that got hacked in WoW even tho they had authenticator.).
