I've lost all my hopes as well for RDR, even though it is really an illogical decision if you ask me.

All the people who wanted the game on console already have it, what's the point of denying PC users such a (great, I suppose Razz) experience, especially since there seems to be high demand. I don't think the costs to port the game on PC are insanely steep, hell, I'd be fine even with a straight port Razz

No such sucky camera movement here, works just fine. Turn down the aiming options in "gamepad" section (yes, even when playing on a mouse) and increase the mouse sensitivity.

Nice! And here I thought that with the amazing favela mission I had already played the best part of the game Smile Looking forward to this Panama mission now!

It's short, but the setting and emotion evoked are fantastic. That entire mission just oozed atmosphere.

I know there are some very low resolution textures for the smaller clutter items but why the toilet? it's not quite the same as a small plate with food on it. Razz
(It's actually a rather large object with several phases of destruction to it - should you ever for some reason decide to shoot one up.)

(The toilets elsewhere also look fine, these ones however are a bit too low resolution.)

(It's kinda like when you walk into one of those weird shacks in Crysis 1 and all objects inside are really poorly textured although everything can be interacted with too, ha ha.)

(Maybe it's on loan from the early Silent Hill series, it would certainly fit in there...)

(A overhaul of the game textures would be a nice effort as well, maybe something for the community should the file formats be similar enough to RAGE in GTA IV, might even allow for more than that even.)

I cannot get the game working. Using reloaded release. It sits at the loading screen and just says loading. I got a screen that came up it want'ed me to allow access to my firewall. I did not ofcourse. I can hit home and it brings up the lounge. It has the reloaded user id and password allready filled in. Not sure what to do, I thought I followed steps correctly when installing.

Some have solved it by updating drivers.

Is the Social Club program installed and up to date?
(It's required but it's also mandatory to update that program as the launcher will ask for this though apparently it will still attempt to load the game even if you decline which will hang at that screen since it can't initialize the program correctly - handles your profile and such, for this game I don't quite know what the new functions are but it now handles achievements, authenticates profiles with serial keys to games and probably some other enhancements, been changed a bit since GTA IV and is actually a bit similar to LIVE in some regards.)

So I started playing this yesterday. But I'm confused. There are clues and bits of Golden Guns hidden in each chapter. But sometimes as I'm exploring, I fail a mission as I'm looking around. Doesn't seem logical wanting you to explore yet at the same time rushing you. Only thing I can think of is if the narration prompts you to move on, there's nothing hidden in that room - is that a reasonable assumption to make?

Also, as far as clues are concerned, in Chapter 2 there are six. So far I found three but they are listed in slots 2, 4 and 6 (or something similar). Does that indicate that I missed something in between clues 4 and 6? Like in between the retired cop in the stall and the newspaper in the kitchen there's another clue? Or do the clues positions in the slots mean nothing?

It's a reasonable assumption yes, but an incorrect one. It really IS a dick move of the developers to have collectibles in a game that forces you to move on otherwise failing the mission/etc. Best thing I can say is; rush. When you're looking for collectibles in an area, do it quickly and efficiently Sad As for slots and missing clues inbetween; yes, that means you misse dthem. The clues are found in order of slot position.

Thanks for answering both questions Sabin. Yep it is stupid to penalise you for trying to complete side objectives. I've only gone back and replayed Chapter 1 so far to get what I missed, but it was especially annoying to have to sit through the same cutscenes again and not be able to skip. Hopefully that isn't the case for every chapter you decide to go looking through again.

When the steps are followed correctly, 2012RLD should sign in automagically, without even having to hit "Home". I had the same issue as you, in my case I had not correctly followed Step 4 of the nfo, i.e. copy "profile" folder to Documents/Rockstar Games/Social Club. I mistakenly copied mine to Documents/Rockstar Games/Max Payne 3. If the Social Club folder isn't there, make a new folder, rename it then paste the Profiles folder in to that.

Also, I blocked a total of three programs from my firewall, two Max Payne ones and another called renderer.exe

Also disable your internet connection, as the same happened to me, I did that and it worked like a charm Wink

reason being the updater wouldnt let me start in offline mode to begin with.

You know how during the cinematics you get the screen that splits into 2-3 parts? Sometimes one of those screen sections is showing a point i died at earlier and it appears throughout most of the cutscenes now.

Also when I die and you get the press enter to reload checkpoint part that death screen is all flickery. Not sure why. ALready reinstalled the game and made no difference Sad

Kinda spoiling the cinematics to the game

Well, I finished the game. It was certainly a very good game. It was great fun I guess, since it managed to keep me glued all day (more shorter sessions yesterday and almost non-stop today). It was more of a Die Hard game though. Now, that doesn't necessarily make it worse than the previous ones. It's just different. I wasn't the biggest fan of the previous games either, so it didn't bother me that much. The game does have other problems though. It's really hard, but for the wrong reasons. A lot of times, enemies act as bullet sponges. The game also throws at you way too many enemies in some sections, forcing you to go into cover quite a lot. No, it's not like the usual cover shooters, but it's not that far either. The thing that makes it less of a problem is that the game as a whole is simply perfection compared to those shooters.

As I said before, I really love the engine, graphics (aside from some really stupidly implemented effects), animations, performance, etc. So there's that. Also, that song from the last mission is indeed really awesome!

Hm, I do not understand the comments about tough enemies. Are pistols overpowered maybe? I mainly use double pistols and I only remember one guy (which was a scripted encounter) who didn't drop with one bullet (two I guess from double pistols) to the head.

Come on guys in NFOHump crew, start giving me some heat by doing the arcade stuff like new york minute Smile.

Also, how the fuck do you fix multiplayer? Is it on Rockstar's side or mine? I've opened every port that they ask me to open and it still works like shit. DMZ wont do anything either.
