I want to improve my performance, so i´ve got some questions..
Pagefile, since i have 1 gb of ram, then i should disable it, right?
AGP Aperture size, what size should i have?
Any other suggestions on performance improving?

1 Gb Ram, Pc3200, 400Mhz
P4 2.53ghz@2.6ghz 533mhz FSB
ATi Radeon 9800XT 256Mb

agp aperture can you set to half or quart of the internal mem. you have.
I would not disable the page file.
i also have 1gb of ram. And my pagefile is 1530-3000mb.
Btw pagefile is the "old" win98 swapfile right?

agp aperture gets used when you vid card ram runs out of room for textures or whatever... quarter of system ram is usually a good bet

Disable the swap file O.o
No no no no no no, don't do that.
Even if you have 1gb of RAM (which truly isnt all that much now) and even if it isn't used 100%, the "pagefile" (that's how M$ calls the file which *is* the swap) is still usefull. The swap isnt only active when your ram is full, it contains the low-priority settings programs use. the kind of thing that will not necessarily be loaded each time the program runs, but the kind of thing you still want somewhere handy.
Example: You should get a drawer ith your tools, you probably don't plan on using your hammer this week, but it's still a good idea to keep it somewhere where you have quick and easy access to.
Not having any swap can only mean trouble for when your RAM truly gets filled.
I suggest you set a pagefile of 150% of your ram (1.5gig in your case) and put it on a separate ntfs partition that has 4kb of cluster size, to make it faster.
Note to skidrow and anyone with differing min and max swap sizes:
While it may sound like a good idea to save space, having a varying pagefile creates a truck load of fragmentation each time it changes in size, making the pagefile much slower and anyfile stored on the same partition slower. A fixed amount on a NTFS (not perfect but the best you can get on a windows OS, as far as format types go) partition with 4kb of cluster size is the best bet.
quick word on agp aperture: yep half or quarter is usually enough. Having 256 is usually pretty useless and cuts too much RAM

Thx guys.
gutyreader: So 256 is bad, so i should keep the AGP aperture size at 128 then?

not bad, just usually not optimal.
128 is good for most people
256 if you have a card with a low amount of memory on it. But I doubt that's the case
