Am I missing something or why are so many people here seem to be buying this game even now that it's cracked? Is it because of multiplayer, or what?

Penance for all the years we've pirated.

Who? Game developers? I tried it out for a while, it's not that bad game so far, dislike how sluggish the mouse handling feels like. Certainly not a game that deserves to be bought, in my opinion.

I followed those instructions except the compatibility thing and got it to work:

1) Download images licensed retail version. Set. Rockstar Social Club if it was before that it is desirable to remove and install the new with the game.
2) Update the game to 1.0.0.17, running PlayMaxPayne3.exe.
3) Download the archive mp3.rar (removed link)
4) (Note, I advise you to backup replaced files) Extract the contents to your game folder, replacing YES answer.
5) Run MaxPayne3.exe.
6) From the menu, press Enter, pop Rockstar Social Club, register, enter a profile, return to menus and voila screensaver starts, and then the main game menu. Also optional, but not necessarily:
1) Delete entry Rockstar Games Social Club in the registry:-For 32-bit OS – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Rockstar Games \-For 64-bit OS – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ Rockstar Games \
2) Update video card drivers, Microsoft NET.Framework.
3) Run the game in compatibility mode for Win7 and an administrator.
4) IMPORTANT! Rename the folder of the game “Max Payne 3″ to “MaxPayne3″ (in a way that no gaps!)Tested on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, retail version of Max Payne 3 (4 images, the size – 26.7 GB). All works well, including conservation.Of course, the full functionality can not be guaranteed!Gratitude to send JasperX

I finished it on 360 and loved it... don't have neither pc or space for pc version now Laughing

Max Payne 3 for PC is a horrible port of a horrible game. Story is so stupid and retarded. Ugly ugly characters (both literally from bad graphics and figuratively). A horrible game. Kany & Lynch 2 is much better.

Hah, judging from the feedbacks looks like it's well optimized too, the world is coming to an end Razz

By the way, derp question, should I continue downloading the 4 retail DVDs or is it better if I just grab the P2P release?

Does it feel okay to you, like in MP2?

If so then \o/

Menus are fucking console port. But aiming, at least when not in slomo is fine. In slomo, aiming is slow, unlike MP1/2 where you had normal aiming speed.

I got the retail 4 DVD release, from whomever that was, worked fine with the "let it update, path with no spaces, put revolt crack in and play" instructions.

The game runs SUPER SMOOTHLY on my system. All the graphics settings are at their defaults. All at High except something that's on Very High, don't remember what.

Awesome.

Anyone else having a problem with the game not showing correctly in widescreen? Everything looks stretched for some reason.
Any ideas? Anyone?

I posted a few images earlier, nothing special but it works.

(Though I forgot to check that the SMAA plugin was working so there's some noticeable aliasing.)

EDIT: And there's these.

I'm impressed by the performance to graphics ration. "Very high" textures don't really look "very high" to me, but the game runs almost constantly with everything maxed out (apart from AA) on my Radeon 6870 at 1920x1200. Even setting tessellation to high doesn't cripple performance, I guess it's very subtle tessellation usage.
