Strangely, characters don't look "thinned" in that screenshot.

Because they aren't. It's just the UI that's messed up.

I thought Risen was technically bad, but this game takes the cake. I'm 100% sure this has not been tested more than an hour. Does it run without crashing? Yeah? OK quick release that shit. It's enjoyable, but one of the worse game's I've played technically. They'll probably release a patch with the EU version, but I'll be done with it by then. Very, very bad port. This game, at its current state, is worth 15 bucks max.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GAME LOADING?

Do you mean that you have long load times?Game loads in 2-3 seconds on my end.I still believe that Risen 2 has bigger technical problems than this one.I'm close to the end of the game and I have only see some clipping here and there.

Yep I have long loading times. This is on an SSD.

I wasn't talking about glitches and bugs, the game is just very clunky. Character models are laughable, clipping issue are very present etc. The game runs well, that's all they did. It's a very direct port, nothing has been optimized for PC. The FOV is also killing me.

Yes, that's true.Maybe you should try installing the game somewhere else.I have it installed on a external samsung hdd and it loads very fast.

Yes I did. I didn't start the game without those files though, so I don't know whether it was worse before those files.

Ten DLC listings appeared in Steam recently as I just re-checked the .blob file listings.
(Dog skins and item packs I believe, one is the steam pre-order weapon pack I guess.)

(A lot of other recent additions and things of interest too, should check more often instead of once a week or so, there's a lot of things happening with Steam it would seem.)

Release date on steam now changed to 7th June. Do they want people to buy their game or what?

They actually want the game to get pirated massively so they can justify console exclusive for their next title Troll Face

Probably some last minute additions or updates before it's released over here, maybe related to the ten DLC entries that appeared some days ago even. Razz
(I guess I'll know if the game starts updating suddenly.)

Finished it, it was quite long and very enjoyable. Still a bad port though, technically it isn't very good. It also takes a good amount of time to get going. Two things I couldn't figure out. How the hell can anyone use UE3 so badly? This is one of worst UE3 games I've played (technically worse that is). How is it possible the voice actors did an excellent job in the last two chapters yet the previous 13 they were soulless? It's as if they suddenly woke up near the end.

I'll have to chop this game in two for a rating. Chapters 1-6 I'd rate 7/10. Okayish, but not anything special. From chapter 7 on you get a connection with the characters and shit hits the fan, so I'd rate it 8.5/10. What a great fucking ending, one of the best I've seen in any game. I did not see the twist coming. The ending deserves a 9/10 easily.
Overall, a technically fucked up game with nice storytelling from two POVs, nice loot and good skill system. Overall it's worth a 7.5/10 easily. I wouldn't buy it (since it's a very shitty port), but definitely worth a try if you even remotely like such games.

You're making me feel like I should really give the game another chance, but on the other hand I wouldn't have enough time to play it though the end :/

I'll wait some time, at least until (maybe) another patch is depleted and a better fov fix is released (which may be never, but still Razz).

The UI is better than most console RPG ports, you atleast get some sort of a grid system instead of a huge list you have to scroll through. With MP3 coming soon, I'd wait for the EU release of this game to play. I assume they'll release some kind of patch.

Not being able to freelook is a huge minus. Pressing right-click and then moving the mouse is quite the chore.

About the voiceacting it's been mostly ok to this point. Just went to the fathers burial of that red priest, but that "old" woman accent and voice was just TERRIBLE.

You'll realize how shitty the initial VA actually is when you hear Alester, Mors and Valarr when they actually do their job.

It had a mini-delay so Steam still lists it as a hour left before unlock but it should be about 27 minutes only now.

EDIT: Something downloaded.

EDIT: Exe updated but that's probably just CEG kicking in as I can't find much else, something about DLC though, haven't found that yet, probably the weapon pack bonus.

EDIT: Nope there's some other stuff in the UE3 folder (AGOTGame) so it's something else.

EDIT: One DLC, some updated files and the previous updated files, should be ready soon.

EDIT: A lot of updated files actually, judging by the changes it at least appears to be very extensive.

EDIT: Ah it's done uploading.
http://www63.zippyshare.com/v/23791916/file.html
http://www63.zippyshare.com/v/37851545/file.html

(Might need a new fixed exe but it might work without it and just using the other files, I don't know what they did with the exe file.)

EDIT: That DLC might have been a merchant in Riverhold as he's a bit away from everyone else and only has rarer items on sale, some of them are pretty nice.
(Nice detail on weapons in this game, some are a bit overly fancy perhaps but most are realistic and there's some nice detailing, one of the swords in this pack has those Damascus steel folds for example.)
