My 480 OC was getting taxed to the fucking edge when Metro just came, and I'm one of the people who can't be arsed if fps is 45 or 60. I doubt I got too high in the settings at all.

Despite all that I liked the game but the combat left me wanting more. Still quite interested to see what 2034 can bring.

it is shitty coding. 2033 is one of the worst optimized games in recent years. it looks pretty avarage by today's standards and you need GTX690 to be able to max it out at 60fps... when same GTX690 can run BF3 maxed out at 200FPS or something. does that sound like good coding to you?

Looks like, along with Cryostasis and GTA4, I'll just have to "settle" with the performance and settings I have. What really irks me is that we shouldn't HAVE to settle for anything, developers should be optimising their damned games. Oh well the game is good nonetheless.

I gave Metro 2033 another chance now I have my new GPU and it's a very decent game. Coding is shitty, even with my GTX680, but at most points I get 60 FPS, Directx10 that is. Atmosphere is very good and I like the pace of it Smile

Agreed Sorry about the constant bitching, guys, I'm just tired of lousy optimisation on games. The game ITSELF is excellent.

It's free, silly Razz The Ranger pack is free to everyone -- it's part of the base game now, came in a patch.

Didn't the ranger thing make it super hard, didn't even try. One play through was scary enough Smile

And yes it could run better, but ran fine on me. Disagree a bit about the looks, has one of the finest light/shadow things going on. Even played couple minutes just with the "zippo" Very Happy

Regarding the smoke physx, I remember when I was first playing the game on an amd dual core and a 9600 gt, that part brought the game to 4-5 fps Laughing

My biggest concern was about the sequel made sillier and more hollywoodian for the derps, but from all the trailers/short movies/gameplay videos I think we're quite safe, the good old atmosphere is back better than ever Smile

That's amazing! Loved those ghost/shadow moments im Metro 2033.

Shame about the Dark Ones though, canon says they all died.

Graphics also seem nice, but all they really needed to do is optimize the old engine, still looks great Smile

First game is one of my favs in the genre. Scary atmospheric survival horror in russia ?! FUCK YEAH.

Second game looks fantastic but I am not sure how I feel about taking bullets economy out.


Also... I would prefer mutants that Dark ones... but we already have stalker doing mutants

I really need to replay the first game. I only finished it once on a 360... It was not playable on LOWEST settings on my pc Sad

They've probably made it easier to understand for the random derpingtons and maybe there will be more ammo available in general methinks, but I really doubt they removed it completely. Razz

Made the mistake of going into the final area without buying a fuckton of ammo on my first playthrough. Sad
On the second playthrough I showed up in there with ~900 rounds, problem? Cool Face
