Why isn't the Quest section within the Journal being filled with anything? I've collected many different diaries and log entries, but none of them get listed under that specific submenu...

I am allready loosing interest, too much of, been here, done that.
There isn't anything new in this game, apart from getting new l3wt... I won't grind a similar game again... IMHO, Blizzie need to reinvent their games with new stuffs, I played this along time ago, as with SC2, (apart from them taking out the really fun classes).
Sure, it's been a nice few days, but, damn.. nothing new again? Did something seriously just croak and die in humanity at the turn of the century? Everything is just a re-burp nowadays..
Diablo 2 lasted years, I doubt this will last me a month.
Did they just do it for a new generation?

Agreed, out of all the games - Diablo is one thing that shouldn't be changed. Hell, the whole sub-genre shouldn't be changed. It's a hack'n'slash bare-minimal MinMax RPG based around killing millions of demons and getting even better loot. Nothing needs to be changed or "innovated"- just keep adding new monsters, new areas, new loot.

Still, I personally havent had any problem with the sp online requirement so far. I did have a que that lasted 2-3 minutes onces..but thats about it. No obvious lag - however, I havent been very far in the game.
Edit: However, instead of spewing this anger out on a non-blizzard related board it would be more fit to bring it to the developers. It's not as if they will ever be in contact with whats written on this board.
Edit2: another amusing this is that it used to be Fuck EA...then Fuck Ubisoft...then Fuck Activision....but people have always praised blizzard for being next to perfect...so imo it's about bloody time people realize that they are far from perfect and really don't have much to come with apart from 3 game series (Starcraft/warcraft , World of Warcraft and Diablo. And yes, I did put Starcraft/Warcraft together since they arent that big difference in terms of gameplay imo). So imo it's about time people see that their beloved flawless Blizzard arent as flawless as they claimed them to be.

Surely Blizzard didn't innovate with Diablo 1 or in the RTS genre with heroes / RPG elements in Warcraft III that everyone started to clone after this ?

Speaking of which, this makes me remember why I'm not so fond of StarCraft II and Diablo III...

its huge existing IP`s , thq innovated with dow2, look where that got them, from producing dow with 4-5? expansions, to going bankrupt, and alienating people that loved dow 1, when all we wanted better engine to fix dow 1 engine limitations, thats about all we wanted
blizzard changed plenty with sc2 and d3 from previous games, but its still "same" game , which it should be, as for innovation , titan should be revealed soon? maybe that one will be something new

Right, it was DOW2 that caused THQ to go bankrupt...  Before talking bullshit out of your ass, check your facts straight. DOW2 like COH before it was one of the most (and only few) profitable franchises for THQ out of Relic.

Just finished the game. I waited 12 years and paid 65$ for THIS?!?! ROFLMAO!!!!
Utter garbage!!! You can tell Activision-Blizzard is owned by the same people as the COD franchise. Vivendi owns them all.
Nothing even CLOSE to the original Blizzard's masterpiece nor D2.
Now I can't wait for the one game i know i LOVE. Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition!!!
Besides the shiny gfx, D3 is SUCH a disappointment. They went backwards in time on so many levels. It's now SO simplified, a retard with an IQ of < 60 can play it. Click click click, collect, click click click....get disconnected.......

Apart from the online restriction, here are my absolute main problems I have with D3.

To be told, I love that D3 has much more randomization for items than it's predecessor. I like the idea that Rares could be almost on par with legendaries. But that's not even the case. It's worse. Legendaries/Set-pieces are not only as rare as the rarest Uniques in D2, no, ontop of that they also suck ass. But the hugest kicker is this... for example, you find a Immortal King piece for the Barb and it has totally randomized stats. I would be surprised if anyone would actually be happy to find one and has a load of intelligence/dex rolled on it instead of str/vit. I hope Blizz will do something about that because it really discouraged me at the moment. Luckily I'm not alone. Uniques/Legendaries shouldn't be absolute King but it's ridiculously stupid at this point how the loot system works.
D3 is doomed to absolutely fail if it stays this way and I would give it only 1 year until it the playercount is even lower than D2's nowadays.
So what is this? Conspiracy to gain more money via the RMAH? Plain stupidity? Streamlining deluxe? Conspiracy that the PC version is just the test subject for the console version, hence why it's so much catered to the Facebook generation?
We'll see.

Ok after playing through the starter over and over.....
Despite the lag issues (I haven't been outright tossed off in about a day in a hlf)
I am absolutely loving the game-play, i want it BAD
My latency is all over the fuckin place though, and that is driving me nuts
I wonder if there is anything i can do on my end, but i doubt it as my connection is rock solid

Well... Since I didn't wanna waste the 60 something bux I have played it fairly long now, act 3 level 26... Few things
1- it's same crap 24/7... I have no idea how such a simple brain dead concept could garner such a devoted following... Mind blowing
2- I will finish act 3 and uninstall and never touch it again
3- I thought AH would ruin the game cause I figured I just bought a whole set of rare items do how can I lose? And that was true till I hit act 3 and game evened out a lot and I see AH was sort of blends in properly
4- one thing I use to LOVE to do is play a game while my downloaded were taking place in the back.., impossible now... The lag will be completely unplayable...
5- story is useless and not at all creative... It doesn't pull you in nor makes u feel for anyone in the story...campaign is also seem to be short and I wonder how awesome of time consuming online aspects were to make cause the SP campaign couldn't possibly have taken 12 years to make... Year or so max!
6- hype and fanboys win again
