You still give any relevance to those?
Retards complaining that Max Payne 3 is too hard now that you have to control max with a derptroller and even have a cover system available?
Retards complaining that Witcher 2's markers aren't very clear (a building can has 2 floors?! OMGZ!1 ) or that the combat system isn't as smooth as Assassins Creed Laughing?

No, but you went to say that 10/10 of fanboys are bad. I just said the paid reviews are just as bad, and indeed worse in my opinion.

Sometimes PC pirates tend to troll a game they can't play because of heavy protection, which hasn't been broken yet, to give vent to their frustration.

Then again there are legit customers who tend to honestly rate a game they can't play because of: highly intrusive DRM, requirement of internet connection even for Single Player campaign and server issues on publisher's side.

That made me LOL.

==========

Anyway, just 'managed' to die in Diablo III for the very first time on normal. So Much Win (Near the end of Act I.)

Game seemed to be so ridiculously easy that I used to go for melee-like close combat encounters with enemies using my... wizard character to give the battles more tension. Laughing OK, I admit I was also tired of holding down Shift button. Wink

No, not righteously so, mainly because that the problems with servers have nothing to do with the quality of the game itself.

Has everybody forgotten about Half-Life 2? Does it deserve a 3.9 on metacritic because of Steam problems on release?

My quick review?

Due to server problems, glitches (though, I'll give them props for fixing the whirlwind disconnect bug in 1 day), downtime, and online-only play? 3/10.

If it had a single player mode? 9/10. Easily the successor to Diablo 2 I was expecting. What's it missing? Honestly? It's the successor to Diablo 2, but definitely not Lord of Destruction. There's a lot of little tweaks, additions (especially in terms of items) that I'd appreciate.

Looking forward to inevitable expansion a year from now.

Same here.

Ignorance, ineptitude or maybe a little "grease" (the site doesn't even have to be paid off, a little exclusive previews and early review copies here and there are enough) from the publishers really don't help that much on the majority of the major review sites.

And this is mostly for the console review centric sites, since the ones that use the PC version or have different reviews for different platforms are on the minority.

And some of those PC reviewers... "the game ran smooth on our rig, an i7-2600k with 8GB RAM and a GTX680". And that's all nice and good but:

- what resolution were you running?
- AA and AF?
- Vsync, tripple buffering?
- how long did you play it?
- etc

Those are usually absent from pretty much every review nowadays, and are one of the most important factors to know when and if you buy that game.

Indeed, at time of release it was a buggy POS. A lot of games get improved post-release And deserve an improved score, but does not mean the initial score should be 10/10 with head tucked deep where the sun don't shine.

here's my review:

Itemization is awful in a game about items. The loot is just plain boring.

Gameplay is alright. Graphics are decent. Music is forgettable. Story is horrendous.

6/10 I don't see it having a huge following or the RMAH catching on simply because the game doesn't seem to have what makes games like this fun to grind

Well, if someone has paid for a game and can't play it, I admit he/she has the right to be angry and frustrated.

I don't think, however, giving any game a score of 1/10 just because it was impossible or very hard to play it for 1-2 days shortly after release is fair. People should try to relax sometimes and wait at least a few days or even a week till they decide to finally give a grade.

And regarding the DRM stuff: it had been announced long before launch, there was a drama.. so most of if not all the customers perfectly knew what they were buying.

Anyhow, there's currently a problem with user score one Metacritic: Should a game be judged with taking publisher's politics into account? Does the fact the game has an intrusive DRM lower its quality? Decreases enjoyment factor? In my opinion: usually yes. (For example, no mods for Diablo III even for people who completely aren't interested in RMAH.)

Currently on Inferno up to butcher, tried 4 manning it but could not even nearly get it down by the enrage timer. Should be doable alone since I've just lucked out an elite level 60 xbow.

Playing demon hunter, pvp is not yet enabled. From what I can tell, demon hunter and wizard are the best farming classes (until some uber gear)

We've one barb in our group who ends up being dead weight most of the time as he hasn't lucked out with high armor/vita/resistance gear and gets ganked in milliseconds when he attacks a group of champions.

While I can kill a group of normal monsters with a single multi shot and set up a triple trap dealing 300k damage to anything (if I luck out with crits Razz )

Though overall it's so much about the gear, melees just need os much more gear than the ranged, who just need super weapon.

Agreed

The Demon Hunter is a killing machine. Great single target and AOE dmg (twin chakram + rain of vengeance combo just rape) and A LOT of versatibility. Im the obly DH in my circle of friend and i have a much easier time than any of them even though we are geared about the same. Lvl 46 now and itearing through everything. Granted i have all uber gear for my level but still. The DH has skills that can shine in any situation. It also scale very well.

Dont regret a single moment of going with that class

So after sludging my way through Act 4 Nightmare, and then an even slower pace halfway through Act 1 Hell, I opened up my game - as I was tired of getting two shotted and insta raped by packs of elite mobs (of which every single one seemed to have Fast/Mortar/Jailer prefixes).

A barbarian and demon hunter joined, 56 and 54 respectively. That barbarian could simply SIT in a pack of elite mobs and never lose more than 20% health - these being the mobs that two hit kill me (wizard with 16k life and ~2900 dps). He pretty much rampaged through the rest of the act and killed the boss in about 15 minutes time - something that would have taken me no doubt the rest of the night solo.

Long story short, it kind of felt like cheating. How the fuck are people fully decked out in insane gear like this? I've been running around with 50% magic find and I don't think I've found so much as a Rare on any bosses Act 4 Nightmare - Act 1 Hell - nevermind a set item/unique.

Not sure what I'm missing - but that 15 minutes made my prior 3 days work seem COMPLETELY pointless. Here I am struggling at every fucking pack of elites, yet those two guys just more or less ignored them. Crazy.

Currently in hell act 2 as a melee mage and it works so well it's amazing to say the least. No deaths except for 1 pack of elites in act 1 which i just skipped (fire chains/vortex/molten bats). With diamond skin and 16k hp it was gone in 2 secs after i was pulled in by vortex.

And that's with 27% resist to all (fire included Cool Face). I imagine some packs in inferno with 4 bad affixes will just drop you instantly nothing to do with skill whatsoever.

In order for them to buy from the auction house, someone had to sell it. That means someone managed to get it themselves.

I have managed to fight the temptation to buy anything yet. Not to mention the price variation is insane. Two items similar to each other will have a price difference of 10's of thousands of gold. I think everyone's just guessing value at this point.

Rakanoth ?
which attack ? on solo nm, i dint drop under 50% health with my wd. (level 49 i think i was)
the ranged one can be avoided if i remember right by staying slighty a bit away from his mele range, and the close wirlwind one go out and run like a chicken.

i got into hell.
23k health, 1.5 k dps.
i just got my weapon from ah, i found something op at 190 dps + inteligence for like 5 k g, rest are from drops.

I've explored every map from end to end as i go through the missions. Been having a blast. Really nice game.... Running in 1920 with everything on max ingame and getting 60fps so its nice to look at.

Looking forward to PvP and trying other classes. So far not had anything AWESOME drop for me. The monk wtf pwns lol.
