for the most part, most of my issues have been with lag. i had 1 dc today, that was like 10 minutes ago.
lag though, when it rains it fucking POURS. my ping is sitting 200-250 right now, but a few mins ago it was sitting at 1500, othertimes it was idling at 500...
for the record, the lag prevention they have goin on here works decently. a 250 ping feels relatively smooth, so i can cope.

It's only 7.8 gb and not 15 like the downloader says.

The way I see it in normal multil player lag isnt as big an issue as usually everyone is affected and you are playing against other players not against single player algorithms , the problem with this setup is that in the likes of perm death in hardcore mode you can die and loose all that you have put into the game but the algorithm that you are fighting dosent care as itll spawn a billion times always with the same level of destruction against you.
I dont mind dieing in a game because I wasnt good enough or I made a mistake but dieing because a packet of data didnt make it from me to them or them to me.
Its like playing against God
For the guys that haven't had a problem yet, sometime maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but some time down the ways you'll have a nice high level char and itll only take one instance of lag to bring death. When it happens it may not even be something on Blizzards side.
But it will happen
I dont have a permanent ip address with my provider and they cycle it every couple of days at random times, how many others are also in the same position, how many will that get killed alone

wasn't really sure if this game was for me...but after watching the GiantBomb guys play for an hour I think I am going to get it...I re-installed torchlight just to see if I would like the lead your character with the mouse pointer...seems fun...

Don't you just hate when you play for 25 hours, find ONE "Legendary" item... and then discover that it's not even as good as the rare you're currently wearing? Yeah, me too. Oh well -- at least it'll fetch a good price on the AH.

All this Diablo talk make me want to almost actually buy it. But, just can't see giving into Blizzard's arrogance. They know that a lot of gamers would buy it know matter what. Could just be that I played Diablo 2 and didn't find it that interesting.
Hopefully, indie game development will come out with good alternatives, and I doubt they would have the means or gumption to try this slavery type DRM. "Can I log in and play my single player game master?" - Grim Dawn, looks just like it may be able to fill Diablo's shoes without requiring me to always be logged on to an internet connection - hopefully.
