There's a release on some popular RLS logging site called:

Game Of Thrones STEAM CRACKED-P2P

(with crack by Ali213)

So if anyone with fast internet connection is hyped enough and wants to try it... It's only 3.32 GB.

It's a original story set in the Game of Thrones saga (Or would it be better to say the Game of Thrones story in the Song of Ice and Fire saga?) as I've understood it, no connection to the books or TV show as such and sure the game is rough but I like what they've done though I have no knowledge of this setting at all thus no expectations or beliefs in how things should be.
(I don't expect them to be able to rival the story and script of either the books or TV episodes but that's more or less expected although they seem to try to really emphasize the storyline since there's a lot of cutscenes and dialogue to drive the game forward instead of just action and other events - there's a lot of that too though - but it stumbles a bit or how to describe it.)

EDIT: I think one can say that they try a bit too much to get a gritty mature world and feel to the game but clumsy use of harsh words or other strong language bungles it up and some emotional scenes also falter a bit due although visuals tie in to this with the somewhat poor animations.

Unsure what the budget was, a earlier post said development was rather convoluted or complicated which would explain things a bit, still Cyanide managed fairly well albeit there's certainly a number of flaws.
(UE3 might have some limitations as well with all the loading screens and problematic texture usage but that's mostly down to the developers and not the actual engine since UE3 can give good results but we've seen similar flaws in many UE3 driven titles although there are probably many reasons for this, game is somewhat of a basic port also which is nothing new either but leads to under utilization of current hardware capabilities.)

I'm not good at explaining and describing but what else could be said, I like the RPG elements added to the game and I enjoy that dialogue has weight and will lead to consequences even if some are rather superfluous and lead to the same thing although worded differently, there's also a lot of NPC dialogue but said NPC's are pretty stiff and don't do much at all though there's some idle animations to vary things but even so town settings can look rather empty.

Combat is pretty neat with how you select skills and how slow and deliberate the attacks look but it can appear a bit silly in larger group fights and some skills are a bit unbalanced or work much better so you tend to use the same ones since they work much better.
(There's some special "hero" skills and abilities as well to keep things varied such as one character having great control over his dog and the other being able to handle fire.)

Levels are very detailed but low model and texture quality can make things look rather out of place compared to the character models or shader works but each area is well crafted even so, it's hard to explain properly.

Controls can also be rather clumsy, UI for example and the various character screens feel a bit cumbersome though it could have been far worse too.

Speaking of the UI item icons are a bit basic but really work to denote what type of item it is and merchants often carry many interesting pieces even if you have no way to afford them currently which is a nice touch, armor and weapon models seem pretty varied and while it comes down to stabbing, cutting or bludgeoning each being slightly more effective towards one of either light, medium or heavy armor there's some nice variety of items to use.
(Even the arrows and bolts are divided like that, blunt arrows seem a bit weird at first but it's kinda like a impact of a hammer just from a greater range I'd guess.)

With such games, combat is all that matters really. Thanks for the comments JB, will check it out.

I tried to explain it somewhat but I can also understand many of the reasons leading to why people will dislike the game, for example while I'm not 100% sure how to best compare or describe the combat model it could probably be likened to Neverwinter and Dragon Age or at least that's what comes to mind and someone mentioned Knights of the Old Republic also but it was sorta "shot down" since this game isn't quite as versatile and tactical in comparison according to the posts following that suggestion.
(You don't just give orders though but will continue to attack via a basic move once combat begins and things handle themselves quite well even so but using those special abilities and managing energy consumption - and using the right gear - and how much energy the ability you activate will use is key to winning the fights.)

A gameplay video would probably be far better than what I can explain and I'm probably missing to cover many of the other mechanics such as with flasks and how you use those to add special remedies or poisons to them for use in tough situations as one example.

Well now that there's a release out (Even if via a non-scene group though that matters little to me.) others can play it and comment on thus bringing a better overview of how the game is, like some of the previous replies. Smile
(I'm fairly positive to the game though I tend to be rather positive overall but it has some crude elements and could have done with some better polishing and more proper PC conversion work but it does quite well as is and I've not found any actual bugs either along with that performance is very good although if it wasn't and considering the visuals and the size of the average level things would likely be really wrong somewhere.)

EDIT: IGN's review gets a bit too much stuck on issues such as loading times and similar technical flaws and limitations but it does also cover many aspects of the game and the score is understandable since the reviewer really didn't like the game though said review is also very short and lacks a bit of detail though it works since it covers most of the important game aspects from how the reviewer found / experienced them.
(I'm probably making it more complicated than it is with this description.)

I can download the game rather fast, but the DRM thing kinda worries me. It has StarForce does it not? Cause last time I had it on my PC several years back, it made a mess of stuff.

ok I may be (more like probably) an idiot here, but just how in heck do you change key bindings, under control options screen, there are a few mouse adjustments and a check box for gamepad,
nothing that allows for changing keys or what the keys assigned do..

Updated files, doesn't touch the exe so it should still be compatible with other releases.

Played last night, about for an hour or so, gotta say that I enjoyed the game, it's not that bad, nor a top RPG but still a fun experience, and before I thought that I'm gonna hate the combat system, now I have no problems with it and let's say I start to like it.

The only thing that is really clumsy, are the animations and VA, but I can get over it, there's alot to loot at least in the first hour and half found alot of loot and changed weapons + armor, and got a nice skull helmet tho.

Could be an issue on your side? Dunno but here loading times are fast, usually 4-5 seconds. You have it on Steam?
