what is this "always on power" requirement bullshit for my PC games. I say down with this coal companies version of DRM to control thier moeny intake of multilayer games, if I cant play it in the woods in the dark, Im not buying it | Wow what a brilliant analogy!
I'll just wait for the next non-blizzard release that requires always on internet to see if some of the folks here on this thread keep singing the same tune... |
Never bothered me, like I said, my PC and internet is always on. so not like it inconveniences me in anyway to allow it to use whats there all the time anyway.
been playing MMOs and MP games since back in ashrons call days..not once has having to have internet to login to the game been a bitching point for me.
Until I live where internet charges by the minute, I cant see it ever being a complaint point for me.
You make out if blizzard making it is the point of why we dont complain, Blizzard, EA, al qaeda, or my neighbors dog could make it, and it wouldn't effect the outcome of my statement.

But I've seen people here and elsewhere complaining about ubishit's DRM and then running off to buy Diablo 3, so with those it turns out that always-on DRM is ok if it's blizzard producing the game.

Oh OK sorry misunderstood.
thought you was doing like some of the others going "well your an idiot if its ok with you".
Was just saying it was a difference of opinion, not a gauge of intelligence to agree/disagree with it
Id say a true 95% of what I do is online, when my internet dies, I cant do my job, I cant talk on TS to friends, I cant play most games I like, I cant check email or browse my sites..I get totally "hmm what can I go find to do until it comes back on", then wander around the house trying to find busywork.
So not being able to play one game more because of my ISP having issues is no big deal

i've got a lil question:
In STARCRAFT 2,i've registered the game and all that stuff to Battle.Net..one day i decided to download the Setup for the game via Battle.Net..this one downloaded the INSTALLATION folder so whenever i dun have the disc on me i'd be able to install it from that folder (Faster, though,i think)
The question is...with DIABLO 3,will this happen too the same way?..because whenever i tried it it had the same interface as the Beta (Download the beta,INSTALL the game without a Installation Folder )...that's what i think
Any help,please?...

I wouldn't be bothered by this if it was simply DRM, but it's not. It requires internet connection because it works like an MMO. From here come pretty much all my problems with the game too, because it feels like an MMO and not even like a good one. The game is simply disgusting like this for me. Add to that that it doesn't feel like Diablo at all. It feels like a WoW adaptation to Diablo's genre, covered with a mask made of Torchlight and a bit of Diablo.

Just keep your install folder the installer makes (mine was named Diablo-III-8370-enUS-Installer) and you should be good.
what I did, installed it on my PC, moved that folder to my laptop and installed, all worked fine.

what part of it feels like WoW? i was a diablo 2 addict loong ago, and my first hour in the game I felt right at home. I despised wow and its "Fisher price my first MMO" feel. i dont see a link. unless you consider needing internet to access something makes it an 'MMO" if thats the case, I do MMO's for a living since I work online, and cant access it without it, and outlook is my login interface.
and this made no sense to me at all
"it feels like an MMO and not even like a good one"
because its not, can I buy a fish sandwich and go "this has a bun, so it feels like a hamburger, and not even a GOOD hamburger, its got a fishy taste to it, so this make it the worst hamburger Ive ever had".
No this is a fish sandwich, one is a burger.
NO this is a coop hack and slash, the other is an MMO.

Not our fault everybody coming here thinks this is a warez board or something lol. |
True enough. I come here to find info on games. Not everyone here pirates every game in the world or bitches because they can't. D3 is awesome. If you want to play it, buy it. You knew it was online only a long ass time ago. Again, if you have a problem with that, you shouldn't have bought it. As for everyone in an uproar about the servers being down.. seriously? This isn't just an authentication sever, but an entire client/server system where the data is stored server side. If Blizzard can manage 10+ million WoW accounts, they can get this sorted out. If it was anyone else, I'd expect serious delays and downtime, but with Blizzard's resources, I only expect a couple days most before 99% of the kinks are worked out.
Otherwise, wait on Torchlight 2 or something. It has LAN, looks amazing, is only $20, etc. Gonna be playing that one too myself.

WTF I logged to BNet to check the price of Diablo for a friend and it says that they reached the limit of licences.

I wish I had listened, and didn't buy this. It is so boring. I feel as if I am playing a 10 year old game. It hardly even deserves the RPG in action RPG. In no way to I feel attached to the story, lore or characters. It is very simple in game mechanics, and randomly generated areas lack design or depth. I want hand crafted areas that people have put thought and effort into creating, which enhance the game and story but Diablo feels very cold and disconnected.
There must be some part in my brain that is different to others, I just cannot see the entertainment in the game. I'm not trying to slag the game off or anything, obviously many people do enjoy it but I don't understand the hype. Even WoW (spit) has more complexity than D3.

act 1 alone has more lore then d1 and 2 combined lol (through the story itself and through the stuff you can pick up and listen throughout the game).
Its VERY lore and quest heavy.
