I dont understand this...in the Beta,i've set everything on MAX quality (High) and the game ran over 60FPS all smooth n stuff (check my rig)
Now...the game runs Slower below 60FPS...WTF is going on?,is there a better config in the game to do?..

I don't like the sharpen effect as in those screenshots either, because it is indeed a very typical Edge Sharpen filter; like FXAA, it messes with everything it shouldn't be messing with (colours, text and it introduces artifacts) - like all post-processing filters, the quality is just bad. As far as I'm concerned, neither is optimal (give us PC-worthy quality assets already Blizzard!), but to deny that the vanilla game isn't blurry is nonsense. |
SSAA might do it, bit extreme but both ATI and Nvidia utilizes mip-map lod-bias adjustments that bring sharpness up since a while back.
Setting lod bias manually could also work but would sharpen everything, I think third party utilities have this option.
(Custom NV and AMD/ATI profiles, no hacks or such for the actual game.) |
Well would you look at that, you can set mip-map bias after all.

(Tampered with reflection quality as well in addition to lowering mip bias but I doubt it's used, haven't seen any reflective surfaces or even water, it defaults to 0 which is off and I think physics is a 0 or 1 value for low and high so it's at 1 compared to the others, besides that it's not much else to adjust other than maybe tamper with the tone mapping which could be useful.)

Installed last night, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Install folder is over 7GB, is there anything I will have to download when I try to launch today? Or are all the files I need already there from the DVD? Don't look forward to going home just to have to download another 7GB to play.

My install folder is 7.78gb and I'm playing right now. I would expect you to be fine.

Cracking isn't the hard part, getting everything spawned correctly and shit is.
