Cheers Sabin. I actually just bought this on a whim at lunchtime. There was still a massive queue in HMV and I've never seen that with any other game release on any platform (I walk past the store every day). Figure if everyone is buying it then it must be good Very Happy

The problem is every scene, every UI element, everything gets the same treatment, and what fits one scene doesn't necessarily fit all.

Well the lack of contrast (note the text as an easy example) is something I've seen on every screenshot (including the DarkD3 ones). So either everyone is using those shitty settings or it's the sharpen filter messing with shit even more than I thought it would. As much as some hate the "colourful" defaults, that is no better as it just makes the entire thing look bland.

For me, that's not worth it. Makes shit so much harder to distinguish and even read at times; I don't have a good monitor just so I can destroy whatever contrast a game has

I'm of the exact opposite opinion but then you know that as we've had this discussion many times, haha. I like the way my Amalur settings look in D3, it removes the cloudy bullshit Blizzard put in the game, VASTLY enhances the definition of the textures and models, and brings detail to the screen rather than it being a "painting" which is blurry and causes my eyes to run.

Yeah, that kind of reviews kind of ruins the whole point of metacritics.

@ Sabin: Yeah I'm not debating the good of the sharpen effect. It does help with most textures (although it fucks some up as badly as FXAA fucks everything up), but the lack of colour isn't good either. Needs to be somewhere in the middle between what I see in most screenshots and vanilla before I'll start using it (and I have no desire to fiddle with it for hours myself, don't have time for that haha) Smile

Aye, it does need some tinkering to get a nice compromise and in the end it's all subjective anyhow. What looks fine for some, doesn't for others, etcetera.

Several hours, if you're not flying through it. Quite a few people has posted that it took them 4-5 hours to get to Act 2 ... and I gotta say, I'm on that track too. So far playing for just under 4 hours and I've only just to The Fields of Misery because I'm taking my time and really exploring/enjoying.

Took me 4 hours ish to clear the first act, not even checked ALL corners, but did most.

Still nobody up for co-op?!

So, do you guys that have played it think that the game length is on par with Diablo II? I know I can get through Act I of Diablo II pretty quickly if i want to.
Im not really worried about it in the end. We still have all those difficulties to get through with the better loot, and let's face it, we all rushed through Diablo II's normal mode to get to the next tier. This sounds like a while different beast in that regard.

My collector's edition is on the truck and out for delivery. Looking forward to finally playing this thing.

1 stripe purple belt in JiuJitsu (good grief this takes FOREVER hahah)
