If by "raped" you mean "took two years to break" -- then sure Very Happy But yeah, in all seriousness; RLD were kings when it came to protections like Starforce. Once they broke the first game, the rest came crashing down too.

Starforce and Tages/SolidShield were da shit back then and Reloaded broke them to pieces. Kinda of expected to be them the one that are cracking a new Starforce with some Steamworks added.

The protection on both those titles is probably non-existent, crackable by anyone with a modicum of talent, but both games intrinsically RELY on external data in order to function. That means that data has to come from somewhere else if you're not using the official path.

I beat AC2 on a pirated emulator with data packages constantly being provided by different users. I had wondered why that method never worked or was never attempted in HAWX 2's case. Sad

Hm, that is a good point. I don't really know anything about the exact protection they use in HAWX2 and I never cared to know either, the game is trash .. especially compared to the insanely good original Very Happy

I need to see the Wargame before i decide to buy it. R.U.S.E. was a great concept, but didn't work too well (especially in SP). So, I don't feel like throwing money away. If i end up deciding that the game is good, i might buy it (the copy protection is kinda of a turn off if i end up playing it on the webz)

great work from RLD, however they are purist who critize people that found walkarounds / means to emulate protection or VM...

according to the NFO you need to use a keygen, so it seems RLD didn't remove the protection or stripped the VM apart, but rather found a loophole to bypass the protection. (probably via manual activation)

for us end users, won't change anything... however RLD aren't in line with their own philisophy Smile

It's the Steam release of the game. Which probably has only the Steam protection.

The original release was the retail version.

Also most of there releases are Multi language support that are not contained in the original release which is helpful for the non English speaking people or not fluent in english.
