Two things:

1. Unit managment is shit. Too much micromanagment.
2. Units of other mages can cross my city borders with no problems - that's retarded.

Overall, after 1.5h of playing it's nothing special.

1. This I can somewhat relate to, but only with the issue that non-at-war mages cancel your Sentry mode on units.
2. If you don't want them crossing, declare war and kill them.


Up to about turn 100 on first playthrough when one mage came crashing down on me when my strongest warriors were fighting in another world. This time larger map and less mages.

One thing to note is that the icons on "New unit available in city" looks very beta-ish.

Re-validated the game now that it's released officially, it wiped a number of files and re-downloaded most of them again, it's back to the beta's 1.1.1.25 version number now.

How many should there be then? I haven't checked but I think it's accurate.

Eight maybe? that's the number of deities the game has that you can support so I think there's only three races for now.
(Elves could probably be squeezed in though.)

Well, my first two games have been pretty fuckin' disastrous, due in no small part to the AI Neutral's ability to pop out hill giants and fire elementals at blinding speeds. I managed to take out the only opponent I shared the content with, but the AI monsters are absolutely raping my units. Sad

Finally beat it. Took 135 turns on Large Continents, Normal difficulty, with 4 opponents. Man, the last 40 turns or so dragged on FOR....EV...ER. I was never in any danger of losing at that point, but there was just way too many AI monsters running back and forth with no aim.

Overall not quite as fun as I thought it was going to be from the demo. The spell research aspect is largely useless apart from 4 or 5 key ones (fireball, heal, firestorm, and a summon for fodder troops). Also, I can't imagine having to win by any of the other conditions, it'd just take way too long.

Worth the $20, but a bit too simplistic in the end.

Yea, simplistic is good word to describe this game. Played couple of hours and uninstalled. This game definetely needs more depth, better AI and less cumberstone unit managment.
