How about Diablo 3? Laughing

Diablo 3 at least doesn't ask for 15 bucks a month payment =P

How can you compare D3 multiplayer to any decent MMORPG. D3 is not an MMORPG, you just run around clicking your button and collecting randomly generated items. It has no depth.

This guy will not beat Inferno mode. Laughing

That being said, D3 is as much an MMO as guild wars 1 and everyone claimed that was an MMO even though the max people you can play with was like 8.

Spoke to a friend recently who had been playing this since the beta days along with his wife. They had stopped playing, as in his opinion the game was released about 2 years too early. Like many mmorpg's, not enough content and too many bugs, unbalanced gameplay etc.. He's waiting for Guild Wars 2 right now. Personally i'm hyped for D3 too.

unbalanced gameplay ? hardly

Content ? well, it has enough content, i guess. But the thing that kills the fun, is the combat.

+1, I hardly even looked at the screen, just my keyboard and the icons to check the cooldown timers.

I don't know what game you played, but if you say swtor has no bugs then you played a different game. Laughing

Is it unbalanced (yes it is).

it's a dying model, and should case to exist as soon as possible, hopefully no Eldar Scrolls online P2P as well

stop talking BS. I know you hate the game (hey, i do too) , but talking BS for BS sake ... please.

And btw, why are people here so fixated on it becoming f2p ?

You are either THAT cheap and trash the game only, because you couldnt afford the game in the first place

or

You spend money on it and think it would actually become a better game when f2p (while all signs clearly point the other way).

So, which is it ? Desperate to play a game you trash or desperate to play a game you trashed, again ?

But I encountered many bugs at launch. Luckily only one was gamebreaking (destiny quest) and was fixed. So I'm a lier? Scratch Head

I also consider the whole combat broken beyond repair which is mostly due to the engine.

Some of the dungeons/instances are horribly designed (like the fucking slowest elevator of doom) and many boss events/scripts were bugged.

After I finally realised that I wouldn't even consider it a real MMORPG and only kept playing because of the destiny quests and datacron hunt (which was actually an awesome idea), I stopped playing (yes, I maxed my char).

So yes, for me the game just sucks and there is nothing the devs can do to change that because the problem I have with it lies in its cornerstones, in it's core.

Really? So you mean your companions never got stuck in a lying down motion while teleporting forward, or completely lost their sense of purpose just because they didn't like they way you stepped onto an elevator.
Or the tons (tho decreasing after patches) of unharvestable nodes in the world(s).
Or how even now, when I switch target, the target health bar will show the previous target's health number over the bar of the new target, making me think that Platinum elite has 15k hp while that's actually my groupmate.

Thats just what I can think of off the top of my head. Just because you didn't notice the bugs, doesn't mean others haven't.

Doesn't mean I don't actually quite like the game for its storylines. I can deal with monotony and simple MMO mechanics, but just because I only play the game in co-op with a friend. As soon as we finish our storylines with these chars, I think we'll bail tho.

That would be even a bigger admission of failure. Game was clearly aimed at casual players, and can't even hold their target audience.

Dont argue with Sin, hes always right, even if hes wrong, he has his own nonsense opinion (Dont know where he got that), i bought the game, played a lot, found a loads of bugs, and if someone says that the game is balanced, go play PvP, and then talk about Balance, MMOs can never really be Balanced, but can be very close to it, this game is hardly even scratching the surface of Balance.

im just sick and tired of your exaggerations.

Sure there are some bugs (show me the game which hasnt lol)

and balance ? lets face it, there are always people bitching about balance in a mmo (class x beats my class y, so class x has to be OP lolol ... bitch much ?)

but neither of those 2 are the reason, swtor is doing as it does.

You being whiny little bitches is just annoying, nothing else.

So, i take it that SWTOR is this misunderstood game, which is doing worse than expected by the EA's higherups, because the fucking customers don't understand the artistic visual of Bioware in our days.

Way to attract customers bashing the very people that paid for your friggin' product. That's a PR Nightmare right here.

Remember those ex-Bioware employees that claimed that SWTOR is nowhere near to be able to compete with anything on the market or that will come out in the near future?!

Remember how EA managed to frag Mythic?! Fragging Warhammer in the process, cause they have this idiot idea that a good game can be made in months or maximum a year.

yeah they turned WAR into a wow clone and it failed and someone apparantly didnt get the message and they thought "now lets do the same with kotor IP ^^"

Thats my whole point btw. Swtor didnt fail because it wasnt done or unpolished etc. Quite the contrary, swtor is one of the most polished mmo ever to be released on the market, but it simply isnt FUN.

EA, and not only, always failed to understand the concept of fun. They understand quite well the concept of making money, though. So, i think that

a. SWTOR ends up f2p (best case scenario)
b. will be closed once the number of subscriptions drops under a million

EA is there to make money for the shareholders and damn the customers. End of story. And EA also has a bad rep when it comes at supporting its games (Sims series seems to be the only series that have an actual support).

P.S.: and actually people wanted a new KOTOR, not SWTOR. But seeing what EA Bioware throws at us, lately, maybe it's better that a KOTOR3 didn't happen. At least we can live with the illusion that would been a great game.

Why would they do that? 1mil isn't a magic marker after which the game stops making money. As long as it's profitable they'll keep it running and just cut servers/support staff. F2P is much more likely.

because they probably need to pay a fixed $ / month/year for sw license.
i doubt lucas settle for % of subscription numbers. they are at least at the same level with ea for $ greed.

They will not close it. They didn't for War Online. So SWTOR in worst case scenario will join it.
