Try running the game with your lan cable unplugged if you're not sure what the update does.
The lan cable isnt plugged, I burned the disc as a normal XGD2 game, and when I start the game it tells me I need to update, my dash version is 2.0.14719.0 and the console is flashed with LT3.0.

So does anyone had this also ?
Had the same problem. I just updated and went well, nothing changes with drive etc. Could play the game successfully after updating.
Tried the game, but didn't like it to be honest. Story is non-existent, enemy AI is ridiculous (once they see you they just stand still or move from one scripted position to the other, waiting to be picked out by your sniping), graphics are terrible and even the sniping itself seems rather simploistic. Wasted bandwidth in my opinion.
That's because the actual game size is very small, the rest is just padding. The smaller the game size the faster it is to rip the iso to god containers.
