The same happens here, logo for a second then black screen then goes back to desktop. Only using a single display. |
Same here but entire systems hard freezes. Everything updated, VC and so forth. Strange completely hammers my system. Weird. |
His most recent post (above, a bit further up.) indicates it was a sound related issue with 7.1 though there's likely more possibilities of why it crashes like that.
EDIT: It shouldn't hard freeze the entire system, that must be something else.

Rofl,
I had huge flickering issues like people have been posting on steamforums and editing the config.xml to max lod fixed it?
What in the fuck...
Flickering as in shadows/vegetation flicker... rofl nice engine.

One thing i don't get though.
First guy you meet with the musket sells bullets. And the combat so far has been super easy. I mean 1 shot off the pistol you get from the start and you take half hp off the mob then finish it off with sword hits or maybe even a 2nd shot.
Am i missing something?

No, firearms are extremely powerful (Even more so with training.) and with the pre-order DLC you get a (For a pistol.) very strong gun to begin with.
(Companions with firearms can also kill most anything thus why I recommend a high difficulty setting.)

Yeah that makes sense however i'd ditch the pistols in favor of the voodoo if i have to. Like i previously mentioned, not sure how much you can max in 1 playthrough.

Ugh this game has so many issues. I want to love it like I did with Risen... bleh. Not awful just really disappointing so far. But there's really nothing else to play right now so we'll see if it improves.

Can't see how you'd miss that one, but just in case :

Anyone bought a cheap key for this?
All of the sites offering the key, write that you can only play if the VPN is on.
Or you start the game via the .exe. But i guess, then you won't have Steam Overlay support?

Also one more thing. I'm supposed to deliver some sugar to alister but for the life of me i can't find him and the tracking of the quest isn't working either (it's showing jack's tower). Anyone ?
About the thief/sneak skills i found one on the new island
