Or the publisher has already deemed the game a failure and doesn't intent to waste any more money on it, which would be horrible.
Maybe there's an understanding between DS and PB to just release mediocre games with bare minimum effort on either side to milk the fanboys until their contract is fulfilled. Then PB will be free to make a real Gothic (to which they now have the rights) under a different publisher or self-funded.

I still believe PB didn't take any of the stupid decisions that plague this game. Even the QTEs... I think DS just wanted them because they're so cool and shit, but since PB have no idea how to do them and no interest in learning how to, they just slapped them on the game. As for the DLC decision, this is simply not like them and they even talked about having no plans for DLC for Risen 2 a long time ago, because they don't like the idea and it's more likely they'll release a proper expansion.
Interesting, that does make VPN usage easier.
(But I found no other countries when I tested with the larger ones and the Nordic ones besides Germany, will try the slightly eastern ones instead.)

Can be. Shogun 2's still not properly cracked, because of all the CEG triggers. But other games that use it have been cracked, so it all depends.
I thing that in Shogun 2 wasn't CEG the biggest problem, but custom triggers from CA itself (same problem as with Serious Sam3). Still there are some CEG titles i would love to see cracked (SR3 DLC's , DNF DLC, ....)

Nice. Just got a mail saying that "there was a production error and we won't receive the game until a few days after release" and it's also release day on Friday. Fuck that shit, i will get it earliest at Wednesday next week if i don't cancel my order.
Some people had been having issues but getting this new update fixed the issues. Adds support for SLI in Risen2 also (which was causing some issues for people who didnt have this latest update and had SLI).
Just a heads up for those who dont know, its good to upgrade your graphics drivers before a new game!
