Is it possible to save Hershel's son? I got the choice to help him or the boy, I chose him but the walkers still killed him. Is it possible to save him?

Dunno, I saved the kid, glad I did now if the son still buys it. Does that mean the kid is dead in your game too?

Nope, the kid is still alive.. his dad came running up, grabbed him and ran off, ignoring Lee's cry for help I'm just wondering if I could have selected a different option rather than trying to drag him out from under the tractor. Seems kinda sucky if stuff like this is preordained.

After the whole "your choices matter" at the start of the game it would be very shitty if that were the case.

Spoiler: | Well I also tried to save Hershel's son,but failed. I did notice though that there was a wooden plank next to him, I didn't try to grab it....just rather tried to fend off the zombies.
I do think there is a way to save him, will have to try it on my second playthrough |
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 4,7 GHz

G.Skill Trident Z5 32 GB DDR5 6400Mhz

Okay, I'm going to try it again now. Thanks guys =)
~edit~
Spoiler: |
Bah. Nope, you can't save him.. nothing works. You can pick up the 2x4 and hit the zombie, but it doesn't stop them. You get one more prompt on the zombie after Kenny saves Duck, but clicking it doesn't do anything and then Shawn dies anyhow.
I've tried every possible thing I can and even the Telltale forum reckons he can't be saved. The decision to help Duck/Shawn is what matters, not the actual action.

Fucking. Bah.

Much to my surprise; I'm really enjoying this! Not overly keen on the "one episode per month" deal though, so I'm not going to buy it until every episode is out. Well... that and a few patches too - the audio quality is bipolar to say the least, one sentence is absolutely fine and another is a hissy, popping, low-quality mess. Same with the framerate, sometimes it's perfect and other scenes have it drop down to 30 and causes the game to become sluggish.

Had no issues with framerate and I'm even recording with FRAPS. You using the reloaded release?

beat this in a couple hours, and i think that was the most disappointing part. this is definitely quality stuff, having to wait another month for another couple hours is kinda bleh though.

Seemingly the one that will be put up on the Telltale store (the one I bought) is a bugfixed version and that is why it is a delayed upload so maybe that one will fix your framerate issues. Seemingly the Steam version is an early build.

Hmm I really want to play this since I'm a fan of these types of games not to mention the series but...I think I should hold on for all the episodes and get a really nice 10-15 hour adventure.

I'd hate to see what you guys think of Valve and their episodes then.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

camera is worse and so is the movement. theres less puzzles, and the qte's have been replaced by combat sequences reminiscent of laser gun games from the arcades. except they last 10 seconds
the framerate issue was non existent for me on the ancient gtx 260. ran butter smooth maxed at 1680x1050, but i did have to use d3doverider. the game uses crappy double buffered vsync i guess.
I enjoyed it a lot, but its too short.
and i consider JP a better game, not just because im a JP nerd. the pacing was just outstanding in JP.

Really enjoyed this. Telltales best game so far (not really a fan of their adventure game reboots).

I'm trying to play this, but every time i try to start it, it tries to open steam.
Is it normal? I'm using the reloaded version...
Steam usually stays shut when i start cracked games using steam_api.dll (see skyrim)

Sounds like you've not copied the files correctly, because it doesn't open Steam here. Put
WalkingDead101.exe
steam_api.dll
steam_rld.ini
into your Walking Dead folder, overwrite the originals when asked. Then simply launch from WalkingDead101

nothing, i copied the files, double checked just to be sure but it still wants to start steam :/
Edit: solved, for some reason when i extracted it the steam_api.dll was 0 byte and i didn't notice, reextracted and everything is working now

not bad game...graphics are so so, not so good, but atmosphere is interesting. The story is a little bit different from the series anyway. BTW, very horrible framerate, f**k.

yeah, the engine is horrible. I'm trying to try it at work (on a quadro nvs 295) and even at the lowest settings is unplayable. Same graphic card can handle other non graphic intensive games like wow or torchlight (albeit on low resolutions and at minimum settings) just fine
