Why? 27th April is release date in Europe. Isn't 24 in NA?
No, it's 27 worldwide.
O fuuu... I guess all the time about 24th I have two free days tomorrow and day after tomorrow. And of course busy weekend. I thought about playing tomorrow but have to wait to next week Great.

It says 27th via Steam no matter what I attempt but we'll see, also that review by Gamebanshee was excellent in comparison to the others linked to in this thread and it was also very comprehensive.
(But it contains a few light spoilers - well depending on if you played the beta and already know about those or if you didn't - so it might reveal too much for some.)
It's very annoying there's no official release date on game's official site. It should be a premiere today but still no one knows (except Steam) what exactly the date is.
Comprehensive or not I posted the IGN review link for the fucking score.
And when has a fucking review ever stopped the humpers from trying or buying anything?
IGN reviews are usually OK but it's probably very subjective, that RPG fan and Destructiod review however were pretty poor.
(Destructoid review in particular missed or skipped over many things in comparison.)

Well since the game requires steam I guess their unlock date is the most reliable one.

Metacritic might perhaps be even better to see a overview but it easily skews when many sites give strange scores or when a bunch of users totally troll the title with ones and zeroes, there's likely a reason for it though so it's good info as well but no longer quite as accurate as intended.
And yeah there's those exclusivity deals as well, they don't really purchase reviews but might offer ad revenue or early access and that's usually not for free, Gamespot is probably the more famous example of this although other factors are also important.
(Nothing I would know too much about of course.)
EDIT: Metacritic has the downside of being nearly too popular as well, even publishers use it as a baseline which is not that good.
(Offering bonuses based on 85/90+ reviews just seems strange to me though, should be based on the number of sales if they have to use anything at all but that's usually obscured too so instead they say it "shipped" so and so many copies even if most of them just take shelf space in some store.)

That's definitely the case.
It's commonplace for German games to get high scores in German mags, but 4players.de gave Risen a fair 74% and Arcania got 40% (rightly so, the game was an abomination) while other German mags were much more favorable. The consequence? No review copy of Risen 2 for 4players, they have to wait for the official release before they can test it.
Now Risen 2 is getting high (~85%) scores in Germany as expected, but I'm actually more interested how 4players rate it.
I don't really understand why some devs (or more likely, their publisher) seems to naively believe dumbing down a well established franchise will earn them a lot of new fans instead, or that review scores will dramatically will improve?
Isn't Arcania a good example of how it doesnt really work out for the better (63% average on metacritic) ? Isn't Skyrim an example that free-roaming RPG's can still sell tons, even if you don't remove leveling up etc? Idiots. Ok, it could have been a lot worse with this game, but i doubt this will sell more than Risen 1 or Gothic 3.

had a choice this month, to get gw2 for beta weekend, or risen 2. i chosed risen 2.
from my part i will buy pb games until they make an arcania shit.
they deserve my money. pirate theme are not really my thing, but at least pb try to stay on the right track with their games. i wish them well, and hope they get enough money to worth to start working on the next title.

I've been supporting too many Kickstarter projects this and last month to be able to buy this right now. I will buy it eventually, if DS decide to put some money into patches to make it better, and fix for example that terrible LOD bug.. I'm pretty sure i would like the game since i liked the beta.
Based on the various reviews and bugs encountered I think there will be a release day update but I'll need to check the SIM/SID archives again, don't remember if they included binaries or not.
(I guess PB would be have been working on the game code over these weeks since it went gold so they probably have something.)
Then again it could be some days before the patch comes out (If one is planned for the release of the game at all of course.) since they release on a Friday and thus it wouldn't be until sometime next week they could schedule a patch since Steam doesn't really do much during weekends from what I remember.

Whoa, you already have the game JB? Upload it somewhere pl0x!
dint play beta, combat is really that bad ?
every time i read in the past a review about gothic 1/gothic 2 horible combat i just laugh and close the page .
Yes, it seems to be worse than in Risen, but you have more stuff to learn about it. In terms of combat, it's like a Gothic III on steroids. Overall, I don't think it's that bad.

Oh well, maybe they'll fix it with patches. If not, MODDERS will fix it with patches.
Risen 1 has a pretty decent unofficial patch and the community was always very passionate about PB games so Risen 2 will be in good hands even if the devs don't patch it up completely.
Look guys, I am 100% certain that if you liked the Gothics and Risen and are into european STYLE games (meaning basically just good games good writing politically incorrect attitude etc )
you will love Risen 2.
PB is too small a studio and have been making these games the way they want for far too long to go the route of Bioware let's say.
So yeah, basically I trust the Piranhas a WHOLE LOT MORE than I trust a bunch o' big headed industry game reviewers with a budget to shit on everything that's not quite stupid-cosher.
