Love the fact that when Ubisoft does it, it's the end of the world, but when Blizzard does it it's entirely normal and acceptable
And if the beta is any indication of what await us in the final game (server overload, maintenance downtimes and shit), yeah, no thanks.
But the game felt ready to be fair, no major bugs. Only login and friends list not working. And I've heard that character customization gets better after a few more levels.
But I'm surprised they would release such a limited "demo", because my first impression, and for many of my friends is really meh. No choices for my character, music is stale, and the atmosphere is nothing special. They show so little, and what they show is really nothing special imo. And it feels so streamlined and dumbed down, even if maybe its not later in the game.
And the first impression is usually kinda important.

+1
i was so disappointed that i cancelled my pre-order - maybe later
I know one or two friends that aren't going to buy it now after this beta weekend as they think it's nothing special and the whole always online thing pushed them over the edge i guess.
If single player was offline and just coop and multiplayer was online it might be a different story.
I'm having doubts myself as I have the secret world and guild wars 2 to keep me entertained for months and maybe years to come so I don't really need D3 at all. It'll be a nice game but nothing special like it's predecessors.
He always reminds me of that from Ace Ventura 2, and he sounds like he's having some intestinal distress when he casts his spells!
Fun class, but his little "Jar of Spiders" skill that replaces the Poison Dart one is completely and utterly useless. Can't see it getting any better even with the higher level "runes". The same can be said of many of the other classes with their low level skills as well - ONE stands out as the clear winner with the others falling by the wayside. Sure, in all likelihood this will be addressed a bit once the higher level skills open up, but I still feel very constricted and non-unique. There's so little customization and meaningful choices in terms of character development.
It seems like it's just going to boil down to equipment and gems.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Pretty much my opinion. So much stuff coming out, and I don't really have any urge for D3 after being in the beta. It didn't capture my attention at all. It doesn't seem bad or anything but it's far from a must buy now

you're surprised blizzard has retarded fanboys? i wish that were realistic..... common sense falls on deaf ears i'm afraid.

I dont really get what your point is..If Ubisoft were making Diablo 3 I would still play it..

and that's precisely the problem, when you think of diablo 3, your first thought of comparison is to derpisoft, oh well, i'm done trying to convince not to play it, have fun with WoW 2.

My what? I fail to see a bigger moron in this thread than you. Trying to turn people off a game that hasn't been released. If they are fanboys you are the definition of a hater.
Ok so i only have the Witch Doctor left to try now and i gotta say that Demon Hunter and Monk are my two favorites classes so far. I thought Demon Hunter would be boring at start but it's better than i expected with all the moving with tumble and laying traps around. I also love Guided arrow and piercing so much. Dual crossbows is also pretty badass
And Monk because it's just flashy and fun to play. Demon Hunter is going to be my main but if i ever make another character at some point it's going to be Monk.
Barb well....it's a barb and i thought Wizard was boring but it probably get better with more skills unlocked.
Gonna try Witch Doctor tomorrow but i can already tell that it won't be for me since i'm not a fan of summoning classes normally. That said i loved the Necro in D2 but that was mostly for PVP/PK with synergized Bone Spirit/prison/wall and some of the curse.
Demonhunter is growing on me, at first I thought it was a bit lame, but then I got Vault, and it became awesome. Evading enemies then rapid firing them in the back is so satisfying. I just unlocked Chakram, but the server went down before I got to try it...
Monk is pretty cool, the animations are very fun to watch, even if the character sheathes its weapons everytime it strikes.
I liked how visceral the barb was, very satisfying.
Oddly, I don't really like the wizard, even though I always play caster classes when given the choice. I dunno, it just felt too weak, and a bit boring (so far of course)
I thought witch doctor was terrible, didn't like it at all. Then again, I hated the necromancer in D2.

speaking for someone who spent 99% of the time in d2 on battlenet, i dont give a shit about always online play in d3.
keep calling people blind fanboys, if that is making you feel better. we sure care.

i think it was nerfed latetly. that skill (with jumping rune) did sick damage to champions packs if i remember right.
for me, wd will be my main char. love the class and mechanism behind.

But you are the very definition of a hater just spreading hate for the sake of it. And you got the nerve to call others fanboys because they enjoy something?
In a year 2012 we present to you the best hack&slash game ever made! Look, these two polygons with a blurry texture (which you won't notice in the dark environment devoid of any kind of lightning anyway) running around on the screen - it's a WIZARD! What's that triangle he's holding in his arm? That's a ... magic wand? No, wrong guess! It's a BOW! That makes his right arm (of course right, left arm is occupied holding a bow!) shoot magic missiles TWICE as fast as a WAND! Oh, and look, you leveled up! Time for an important decision! Choose your skill! Yes, skill, that's SKILL without s, not skills. What do you mean where's the choice? You have to PRESS a BUTTON to unlock the skill! Of course, naturally, if you don't press it you don't get the skill! That's the choice! Oh, wait, and you haven't heard the best part yet ... what do you mean? Of course it can get better than that! This great SINGLE PLAYER game can be played ONLY ONLINE and has no SUBSCRIPTION cost! Hmm, now that I said it out loud, this particular decision … which one? no subscription of course! ... might not have been the best one for the bank acc… ops, I mean gamers of course! What the game price is? Why, it’s just a lowly 80$! Wait, where you're going? Price is too high? Ok, get the game for FREE! [Shouting in pursuit] You only need … WoW ... with Pandas ...

Did you at any point think this would be funny to any extent? I mean even if you ignore all the exagerations you put into place.
Judging from your post you don't even understand the amount of different builds that d3 holds and how much more varied it is than d2.
Did you at any point think this would be funny to any extent?
That's the thing, it's not funny at all, it's just sad.
How you exagerate and have no clue what you're talking about when you say those things?
Yeah it sure is.
Only gripe that's actually valid is the graphics, although that still is up for debate since once again you exagerated and even so the game manages to have a paintery feeling to it, like you're playing a painting, quite fitting and an art-style that won't age badly as gritty photo-realistic aiming games do.
Why am i bothering anyway.
You clearly won't buy it, so go ahead and do something more productive with your time than whine about something you don't care.
From a technical pov, yes the graphics are lacking for a 2012 game, but from an artistic pov they are really beautiful. I'd prefer a realistic look, but they're not as bad as Torchlight or Borderlands. And for the record, people didn't like Diablo 2 for the graphics, they were not that good, even for 2000's standards.
It's an hack & slash. It all comes down to combat gameplay and proper loot randomization, and i think the game does both well. Sure the story, the graphics and the sound/music are important, but they are all secondary if they get the gameplay/loot right.
