I'll take dieselpunk over steampunk, steampunk was only good in Arcanum other than that it's a load of hot air Razz

I agree with Fable, I tested it 10 minutes ago, and it's quite bad, imo. Too much contrast and completely unnatural lighting. Pass Razz

hi everyone.

after installing skyrim i started looking for good mods,, but i quickly got confused.

steamworkshop.. skyrim nexus,,, whatever,,,

sometimes nexus dont have a mod and sometimes steamworks dont have it,,
really confusing where to get the mods,, and what version is the latest..

any thin red line here ??
oo yea and what mod manager to use ?? looks like there are serval too.

i just want " like everyone" skyrim to look as good as it can,, and add alot of good mods to enhance my gameplay.

cheers

Thin red line? Don't even bother with complex modding if you don't have enough patience. (No, that's not meant as an offense.)
I've spent entire days with installing/configuring and testing mods.

2018 - x Build • Fractal Design Define R6 Gunmetal • Intel Core i9 9900K • Corsair H150i Pro RGB AIO • Asus ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO • 2x16Gb Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3200 • EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ • Corsair HX850i PSU • 1x Samsung 970 Evo M.2, 1x Samsung 860 Evo SATA, 1x Samsung 850 Evo SATA •

I find your lack of patience disturbing, still NMM it's kinda useful even through I don't pretty much use it, I have like 20 mods now so I can handle them manually, NMM it's good for auto-updates on BOSS and lets you know when there's another version of the mod you downloaded through it.

If you want to archive a good looking game, best mods so far and customize your game however you want, you need patience and balls of steel, since you never know when you can get a CTD Very Happy Find the issue, try to solve it etc, but mostly from what I've seen most of the mods don't fuck up each other.

hi again

well my patience may disturb you,, funny you should say that.
i have Oblivion installed with 221 mods installed Stable and running for more then 250 hours so far.
so i KNOW know what modding is about, i dont even dare quessing how manney hours i used modding oblivion.

but with skyrim, more modding "players" were added.. like steamworks.
it just confuse me that there are so manney places where i can get the mods,, and some mods are not avaible 1 place and so forth.

thats why i asked for "the red line"

thanks for your answers so far.. apriciate it,,, eventhough i may disturb you Smile
cheers

Steamworks is moderated, no adult content is allowed on there, and it auto updates mods when ever a mod author updates his/her mod. Since it's auto connected with skyrim, skyrim will auto download any updates there is when you launch skyrim. All you have to do is subscribe for the mod on the steamworks page.

Nexus has no moderation at all, well sure the adult content is put in a sub group called adult content which can be blocked but other then that there's no moderation. Nexus launched their own mod manager NMM (Nexus Mod Manager) which currently can be used as a mod manager for Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion and Skyrim. You control what version of the mod is installed, when you want to update it etc.

The creation kit is connected to steamworks, so mod makes can upload it to steamworks directly from that. That's why you don't see some of the mods you see on steamworks on nexus and the ones found on nexus but not on steamworks are usually adult content mods or mods that are bigger then 100MB.

On steamworks you're only allowed to upload a file size of maximum 100MB per mod. So that cripples a lot of mods! Nexus have just upped theirs to 5GB it used to be 1GB!

So you'll also find bigger mods on nexus then steamworks!

Kind of new to Skyrim mods so figured i'd give it a go using the nexus installer thing, now for some of these mods i needed SKSE, i'm using update 8 (1.5.26.0.5?) and the latest SKSE (1.4.15?), yet whenever i try to launch it it just gives me some error that i need to update to the latest version of skyrim? how do i get this SKSE thing to work properly, or does it just not work with the cracked release?

Using the razor1911 release

Highly doubt it would work with the cracked release since it is changing/modifying the game executable in RAM while you play. Also don't use the beta patches unless skse says it supports it.

There is no current beta patch for the game though, 1.5.26 went live some weeks ago. Smile
(But otherwise yes you need to use the SKSE version that supports your game version which if you use beta patches usually involves waiting a day or two extra - usually it's done within hours however - while they update to support it.)

Simple question - Is it enough to just download the latest patch after doing a clean install of the Razor release?

So if I don't want to keep using ENBseries crap should I set bfloatpointrendertarget back to 0 ? Does it improve graphics on its own ?

You should remove the ENB files or simply not use the injector (103+ versions of it.) that particular ini tweak allows the game to use floating point render targets whatever those are, I have only vague ideas.
(Floating point instructions are used for HDR though which is what ENB uses them for too I'd guess, much better eye adaption than Skyrim default but the actual high-dynamic range lighting is rather exaggerated by default.)

Or you could use version 108 which only supports the HDR function and removes all else.
(Note that this needs custom modifications particularly altered for it, won't work with normal enb mods, lighting will be entirely messed up.)
