galaxy, as entertainment a spectacle known as The Nexuiz Competition: An
arena based first person shooter where you can alter the rules of the match

i think i will wait for couple of patches with this. Played the beta and it seems like they will add in next patches will add LAN Support and Bots for Multiplayer matches
There's been one patch already but I'm unsure what it does, there was no changelog posted via Steam when it was released but it altered a number of things judging by the files it added or changed.
(More could probably be useful, LAN support would be a nice addition though comments in config files and similar points out issues with CryEngine so those would probably be prioritized if it's something they can do without Crytek, might need a SDK update.)
Features:
Pings show up in text form on the scoreboard, instead of the simplified color codes
Fixes:
Fixed the random somewhat infrequent texture warping/swimming on the Forsellian maps, and the resulting periodic crashes
Fixed dynamic mutator options in custom matches
Fixed bright models not having the correct shader
Added 9 additional Nexuiz service servers to improve the responsiveness of stats pushing and reading
and according to formus - LAN is on their Radar and still needs some work
so this looks like 4th patch:
Patchnotes:
Patch 2 (May 15)
Spoiler:
Features:
Preliminary dedicated server support. (Ranked dedicated server games and the ability to host your own custom dedicated server via the HLDSTool coming very soon)
Support for language is now in the options-> game settings.
Bug fixes:
New random number generator, improving mutator choices among other things
Fixed teams being capable of getting to more than 4 players when auto-balancing is off
Fixed the highest rank leaderboard not showing up in the menu, even though the information was in the database
Fixed a rare crash when players tried to update names
Fixes rare occasions where lobby shows up when the game is loaded in
Fixed auto-balancing for ranked games
Fixed bug where team swapping would lock out all previously held weapons
Made it so the player regains air control when starting to fall (after the apex) from coming off a jump pad
Made it so you air control can't be locked by a jump pad after rocket jumping
Temporary fix for the Flag position getting out of sync with what the server has, which would make it appear like you couldn't pick it up
Bunch of permanent mutator fixes
Spectator mode fixes
Note: We will be posting separate instructions regarding the dedicated servers shortly.
Patch 3 (may 17)
Spoiler:
Features:
LAN party functional, and works when Steam is in Offline Mode.
Fixes:
Forcing player movement physics to be synchronous, eliminating movement latency at the cost of some CPU usage. This is a GPU heavy game so you probably won't notice the CPU hit.
Fixed a bug where switching teams while using bright model option would cause players to have wrong color. Potentially fixes the issue without bright models as well.
Fixed a crash on mid-game join during map loading when the Lasso mutator was enabled and someone got lassoed.
Fixed a rare crash in player physics during map load while joining a game in progress.
Fixed an uninitialized variable in ragdolls physics, which may cause crashing or just general weirdness in ragdoll behavior.
Patch 4(May 20):
Spoiler:
Features:
- Community Designed Level Blue Rooms are now available to play on. (Custom Matches and Bots Only)
- Notifying clients when they can't join a team because it is full.
- Widened the message log by 100 px and made them stay up a little longer. Makes it a little easier to notice and read chat messages.
Fixes:
- Fixed the player physics bug where when you jump from or walk off of a steep slope you completely lose air control. The slope was still affecting velocity when you are in the air.
- Fixed the "Reference counted object deleted twice" crash mid-game and when you exit the game.
- Decreased the title server UDP packet re-send delay by half. Will improve response times when there's packet loss.
- Fixed a crash in the stats system during bots games.
- Fixed an improper shutdown order potentially crashing the game on exit.
Game looks kinda fun i mean i love the UT style games, so much so that i bought both ut2k4 and ut3 only to find out they are pretty dead UT3 has a few servers which are full most of the time tho (game is gorgeous and the art design is wicked also love the alien vehicles)
