well loud music at 3am is not really right...I know that here in Sweden You must lower the music after 11pm...but personally I don't really care if my neigbours play all night in the weekends (well, even I do have a limit ofc on exactly HOW high they can play...when my furniture start moving due to the loud music I might get enough)..

shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

if its throughout all day... lets say since morning... till 3pm... thats excessive. srsly. why do you need it so loud? you will regret it later in life. just grab a good pair of headphone and be on your merry way.

life like the golden rule way. many, nay most decent folk live through the golden rule.

Not being there I can't comment on your situation but we've had no end of issues with our previous neighbors and their music. There's nothing worse with a loud bass through the wall thumping away, it's worse than actually even hearing the music. They moved out around 5 months ago and some other people moved in, peaceful ever since Very Happy

I'm not sure how the laws are out there but in Estonia it's not allow to disturb someones home peace and comfort (I'm not sure about the correct words here).

Well, if there is an alternative, just go for the alternative... i.e. lower music or headphones. Yeah yeah yea you have the right to make loud music. But doesn't really matter to be a little bit thoughtful of the people around you.

And I don't think you should be that harsh on the lady. Can't really blame her for telling you that she thinks the music is too loud. At least she has the decency to come to you and tell her your problem. Maybe you can fix it, maybe you were not aware of it, maybe you are willing to lower the volume (apparently not, but she doesn't know that) etc. Much better than calling 911 or sending some big nigger called Bubba to beat the shit out of you

And I don't think you should use the law to squeeze everything like a citron. If everybody is a little bit thoughtful of the counterparty in a transaction/people around him/other people, things go much smoother than when living according to the exact rules of the law.

I don't want to get fucked over every time i sign a contract or purchase something because the laws allows it. I don't wan't to experience 100dB music all day long 7AM 10PM if the law allows 100dB from 7AM to 10PM (like it is in Belgium).

If there are too many rules or everything is in a law, people are complaining 'police state', 'big brother laws', 'i can take care of myself' etc etc. Just be a bit social and try to live together like normal adults. *sigh* Waaay too much ego in the world nowadays.

My premium example in this case is 'zippering' when 2 lanes in a traffic jam have to merge. I really don't understand why people don't zip 1 car from each lane automatically. left, right, left, right, left, it ain't that difficult and it's the fastest and fairest for everybody. I always let 1 car pass, then i take my spot. And every fucking time people start flashing light, honking, flipping fingers. I was merging last friday and i took my spot, and some fucker just hit me in my side door at like 5km/h. And he did not stop, just kept going, at 5km/h. Fucked up 3m of my right side, but he got in front of me !!! *congratulations*. So i get out, and so do others in the traffic jam and i ask him 'wtf, why can't you just merge like everybody else?' -'i don't have to merge like that! and i am in a hurry!'. So i went like 'well i don't have to let you pass either, asshole. I let 1 pass, so i take my spot, then you can go. so instead of winning 5 seconds in the jam, you lose an hour'.Then he start whining he has no full coverage insurance Laughing. And the cops come and they say noone is responsible. blablala, can go to court, blablabla. So i will have to take this to the court, well my insurance will pay me and sue the motherfucker to get the money back. So the conclusion is. Mr speedy whiner lost 1h and is sued by my insurance company. I got a brand new right side for free and no increased insurance premium. But at least he did not let 1 small car in front of his big car... Ego intact, wallet bruised...

It's not fine in your neighbours opinion.

Do you really want all the hassle that WILL (eventually) come if you don't turn your music down a bit?

When I lived in the old apartment with other students our neighbors were all 60-70 year old people. You can't even imagine how many "warnings" we got, even having the TV turned on annoyed them Laughing

Apartment blocks suck :/ . There's people who don't give a shit, but there's always someone who's going to be the party pooper, there's nothing to do, it's inevitable Razz

i have to disagree ixi! i live in a apartment block with at least 80% old people.
they don't hear shit. even at night i can turn da based god up to the max.
once we had a warning from the old lady above us because of "tabaco"smoke that went out thru my window.
she said she gets some headaches from it, well no wonder... she was inhaling all my weed smoke. Very Happy
but i accepted it, now i only open up my windows like every 2 or 3 hours.
well, now she gets all the smoke in one heavy dose every couple of hours Very Happy

but i also agree! if u got thin walls or something like that u should take care.

Buying an expensive and impressive sound system when you're living in an apartment is pointless, unless you want to be an asshole to your neighbors of course. If you have a house on the other hand... :want:

This is the thing, I would never play music really loud in a apartment complex but this I live in a house that we bought and paying off the mortage.

In past 3yrs, I have been living here, NONE OF THE neighboors complained or called cops on us because I have listented to music really loud, I mean max volume on occasions. But I don't do it everyday..maybe few times a year.

Two families living before the current ones, they did not complained even once about music. And since currents one live...all we hear is nothing but complains about everything and anything

I guess I am bad guy in all of it?

If someone can tell me the tell when as she described it, she needs "quiet time" but I like my "music time"...and that makes ME an asshole? go figure Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

It's not really loud, if you guys would listen how loud it is..you would laugh...even my Parents laugh when they come to room and hear the music for themselves, People produce from decibels when they talk on their cellphone or watch TV.

I sometimes hear their TV on our living room and I go around complaining?
Nope!

I did turned down the bass little bit..but my music does not sound the same Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I DO NOT mind lowering the volume but there is larger issue. Lady has two sons, they have even better sourround system than me but THEY ARE NOT ALLOW to use at any given time during the day. and that's why I cannot use mine as well. Which is NOT OK. Can't go around and tell people what to do or what they cannot do.

This is what I hate when you give people freedom, they start to complain, whine about everything single detail and it does not help because Polish people think they are some sort of Gods that they have right to do anything and others should shut up. Because living X years in American does not make you any better than regular folks.

Just because you do not have X does not mean someone else cannot use the X item. This applies to them because THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THEIR SPEAKERS AT ALL BECAUSE THEY GOT NO FROM THEIR MOTHER. Well this DOES NOT mean I CANNOT USE THEM AT ALL as well. People have no right to mind in someone else daily routine and except to be still nice to them...And that is NOT OK.

But that is just like my opinion

Well if as you say it isn't that loud, ask if you can go into their place while your music is playing and see for yourself how loud it is. If you can only just hear it and it is very low then I guess it isn't a problem.

I'm pretty sure it is irrelevant who owns and who is renting when it comes to disputes like this.

Yeah, that's actually a good plan. Lady can't be pissed because you want to check her house for the noise. You show you care about her (even if you don't, pretend !). If it's too loud, then it's too loud. If it's not, just say her you think it's not too loud.

But you don't have to exagerate of course. I once, during my student time, had an old gentleman who was complaining, and I shit you not, that 'you are capturing the television signal away because there are 10 people in front of the television. Look at all those bikes in front of the house, there are at least 10 people stealing away the signal from my television'. And that guy needed to vent his frustration with his television every fucking day. Laughing So he basically went through the entire street every time his television was showing snowy signals and complained everywhere. And the next day the people were complaining to each other because the nutter was annoying again.

In the end I just told him, 'show me your television'. The old man had bought a new flatscreen to watch the World Cup or Eurocup (cant remember) in 2006 i think and his cable in the back was sloppy. So i just popped it in hard and everything was fixed. The old nutter stopped being annoying and all of a sudden the 10 people with their bikes were not stealing his signal away anymore, strange strange. But he kept convinced that the excessive headcount in front of one tv was partially to blame!! Laughing old people Rolling Eyes
