I just not attract to larry series,and somewhat even feel some hate for it. I backed Jane's project instead,but I still hope they will end up with 500k at least,they had good video.

If its successful they will try and do the other games as well (kings quest,police quest,etc)

I always get the feeling of genuineness when it comes to Lowe. That said, I was unaware that they had merely licensed the rights back. On their Kickstarter page, when they said they had re-acquired the rights, I assumed they had bought them back outright.
That's kind of deceptive - all this talk about not wanting to rely on publishers, when in reality if this remake does well, they will STILL be forced to eat out of Codemaster's hand should they choose to pursue future options. Which leads us back to square one and the root of the problem.

and lets hope there will be investors of some kind, be it publishers or crowdsourcing in a big way like you can with stock where multi million dollar budgets are possible for games we the gamers want, where its not about squeezing every penny out of it and where profit is good enough no matter how much.

well so i finally got off my lazy ass and looked up the kickstarter page and realistically, it looks like i'm going for the $100 level, but... damn, i want to mortgage the house way too much for lunch with al lowe, guy always was and probably always will be one of my fondest childhood heroes.

They're pushing it so much. They picked the wrong game to start with. Kings Quest would've gotten great backing. Larry is not even that good of a game.

They obviously can't make a new lsl. They don't have any ideas. and a remake of a poor game isn't such a good idea. Only fans want it and the fanbase of that game isn't strong. They should instead do a new adventure game just like DF did. Then they'd rake in cash.

telltale already has the go ahead to make kq. what's funny is how none of this was revealed in the beginning of kickstarter.  it's like... they just want a cash in on a faded idea.

I was a big LSL and Spacequest fan back in the day but honestly, $15 for a remake? I mean, it's a remake of a remake of a remake already and I played all the three previous games so there's little reason to play them again.
On top of that, I dig the last remake's graphics far more than the cartoony look which is just too slick for me - Sierra's painted backgrounds in the early 90s games of theirs were really beautiful and made the games come alive - cartoon style just doesn't do that.
Now, if they made the game mature (as in, remove the silly Sierra censoring) and gave it more shocking comedy (because it has become rather tame in the last 25 years) + added new puzzles, new locations, etc. then I'd be on board.
