The company I work for uses their other software. I've seen it in action. Cool stuff. Actually, the CEO of Bohemia apparently will fly down and have meetings with our folks now and then.

Regardless, looking forward to Arma3.

What I want to say is that I really respect these developers. They're not crapping on everything they did so far, everything they like to do, just to get more money.

Well said. Smile

+1
There are tons of mods and addons, they deserve the money for their games.
ArmA X (ArmA I + official addons, ArmA II + official addons) costs only €35 in my country, I'm grabbing it asap Smile
There is also a FREE Arma II version, try it Wink

Arma 3 - New Interview with Gameplay

I hope some of our Czech residents (do we have any?) can comment here on what the dev guy says.

This game is looking very attractive to me. It would be my first Arma game but I'm willing to learn Very Happy

You know that after playing an ArmA series game, there's no turning back...
You won't be able to play again CoD, Battlefields, etc.
This is fair warning. Think well.

As always I'm speaking for myself. But I do happen to know, that in this case, I'm not only speaking for myself.

Absolutely. If it wasn't maybe it could mean that the game would be like any other corridor shooter, or any other fast pacing fps with multiplayer that wants to please the CS crowd.
So expect tons of bugs in the first versions.

You know, ArmA is filled with fanboys.
But believe there might be a reason for that.
I've been playing video/computer games since Pong back in 70's.
OFP and ArmA series have given me some of the highest, joyful and rewarding playing moments. And that's it.

Oh boy, I sure hope so. Nothing is better than climbing over imaginary fences on a plain open field. So Much Win

Exactly. No awesome buttons in ArmA.

Many of us have been around since then Wink

Arma has just as many fanboys as any other game - You can't say

"You know that after playing an ArmA series game, there's no turning back...
You won't be able to play again CoD, Battlefields, etc.
This is fair warning. Think well."

..and actually belive that's actually the case. I mean, sure it is for some - but everyone has different taste Smile

Ahah.
You see that's exactly like in RL. There are always some people ready to do some weird things. Wink

Sure.
In my case, when I'm playing with OFP/ArmA engine things seems to have a certain weight. Like if you're feeling somehow the gravity. I fell that I'm walking, running or proning. In most of the other games I've always the impression that I'm sliding. Every movement has weight. That's just an example, how things are different and makes harder to play other FPS, specially if you like the effect.
Of course people may feel things differently.

ArmA is nice, but OpF is still my favorite. The amount of tactics that you had to use to keep your squad in the missions...But keeping the squad alive made them better. I remember that in the middle of the game, my squadmates were fully upgraded and all I've had to do was to hurl orders to them. Nothing seemed to bring them down anymore. They would aim accurately, they'd hold a position in a great way, they would kick arse. Shame that BIS decided to give up at that feature.

I hope that ArmA 2 Complete ends up on GoG once ArmA 3 is released. I mean OpF and ArmA Gold are available there.

I'll upgrade my GPU again just for this. I just hope the SP is good, I can't stand the people in MP sometimes, a lot of them still have that lone-soldier-I'll-kill-everything-myself mentality.

I too will upgrade my GPU, I still have a 4890. That won't be enough for ArmA3.
Public servers are sometimes infested with "kids" who don't know how to play in team and are there to killed the others enjoyment.
But you should try private servers. There everything is different. No kids. 100% Teamwork. Even PvP old style games like CTF is fun to play, and when played with people who knew each other, it turns out to be great.

well, in my experience most people don't have the patience to get over the contrast in level of realism
it takes a few days to get the mind right to stop playing like a cowboy that most other games promote and to learn to always have cover
but once they get over the first few days, they're hooked

Like Rambo said in Rambo3: "we've got them surrounded".

Most people have this bizzare idea that in combat you can charge head on and nothing will happen to you. Since the stone was used for throwing, man learned the meaning of "taking cover" and make good use of it. For some reason, the new generation thinks that taking cover is "camping".

There is a difference between camping and taking cover

Truly is, but for most of them: taking cover=camping.
