these two guys... crank was a lot of fun, but im thinking that was a fluke + statham being naturally enjoyable in that role.... c2 was crap, gamer was shit, and this... its not just me not liking the film that much, it just feels flat out incompetent in its making. some absolutely shitty editing and visual aesthetics... it just looks like such an amateur production, like a wannabe rock-star crazy zany filmmaking style, that lacks the talent to actually pull it off properly... and frankly i just dont think it even suited. all it did was highlight how stupid and cheesy everything felt. even cage is better than this shit.... but it just felt so cheap.
there were some bits that i liked. some of the action was choreographed well, and some of the visuals were quite nice - i actually liked the grungier style of ghost rider this time around (the thick oily smoke and fire effects, the dirty look of the bike)... i dont know if its really 'ghost rider'... if it works for the character (i dont know anything about the character), but aesthetically atleast, i liked it.
and the black dude was cool. but thats about it, really. stupid and unlikable characters, piss poor acting (even by cages standards), shitty story and script, bad direction, editing and style (the crazy style SOMETIMES worked really well, but it failed more than it succeeded).... but pretty visuals and the black dude was cool.
so yeah. massive disappointment for me. i was hoping for a really really fun and enjoyable dumb adventure action film, but i ended up with an insultingly poorly made one, with a couple of nice action scenes.
some nice action scenes but the rest of the movies didnt do anything for me.the best in the franchise? no way jose! the 1st three are better than this.

MI2 is a spectacular action movie that blew the 1st one out of the water. John Woo is a master of action movies and directed this with panache and style. In comparison, Mi4 is a damp squid.
