Hah you managed to fix the distant LOD sprites (For the vegetation at least.) or what they were, nice. Smile
(I mean the game doesn't look horrible or anything but this game and Oblivion even when fully modded had that system for distant terrain which really stood out, don't quite remember how it was in Gothic 3 - or the previous ones - but mods and ini tweaks helped out a lot there.)

(There was a console command to force the entire Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 world into the view render or what to call it, hit performance hard on those computers back when it was released but really made a difference when better hardware became available.)

PB's LOD system is getting worse and worse! It was alright in Gothic3, bad in Risen 1 and quite horrible in Risen 2. In Risen 2 the branches are zooming in/out in a really strange way.. i really hope they fix that. They're still using speedtree it seems (from reading the .xml) i dont understand how they mange to make it look so bad Sad

Sometimes i'm almost wishing fog was back in 3D games. Almost.

Isnt this game based on multiple islands to work around that LOD problem?

In risen it was only really bad when you get to the mountain temple

The vegetation LOD is bad everywhere in the game, bushes and trees changing from 2D to 3D in a very ugly way. It can, and has, been done a lot better.

Yeah, sure the textures look awful in certain places, but the lighting is really Thief like, i really like how it shadows some parts of the tree giving it shape, shadows of branches taking shape in the darkness, really cool stuff imo.

Not sure if serious. The lighting in that shot looks plastic, worse than Doom 3. Looks like the tree is made of aluminium. Laughing

GTA IV for example as seen above easily loses the sky into some bright pure white color.

Nothing wrong with that. You are in an dark alley. Your eyes adapt to the darkness and everything else is overbright Smile

True but I don't think the ENB version for GTA IV actually has adaption, I could be wrong though but the same effect is seen in some of the authors own images.

It's also a result of using the injector with a newer version of GTA IV (Above 1.0.4.0 I believe.) as Boris never supported them, that or it was losing the shadows I don't fully remember.

EDIT: Actually it might have some form of adaption since that or rather HDR seems to be one of the first effect Boris usually adds with ENB though these latest version are far better than earlier releases.
(But in turn only work with the specific game it was written for instead of being more universal.)

Hayssam Keilany's modified ENB (icenhancer) is what you should look at, not Boris version.. Hayssam has made a version that works for all the GTA IV versions. It's a sick amount of time he's putting into it Smile Been following him for like a year on FB and he writes and posts images of his progression almost daily. Latest version is 2.0f i believe.

Dno why but the vids i've seen are pretty underwhelming graphically. Lotsa stuff just seems bad/out of place. Screenshots look good though. Talking project cars here.

The game is still pre alpha and the dynamic lighting has just been added some Weeks ago so expect some errors here and there but mostly it looks much much better than any other racing game.especially the car models look just incredibly good!
