They clearly said their screens weren't showing enhancements before (and wouldn't for a while).
We're talking about a game announced 2 weeks ago, and they hadn't started development for a long period of time before that.
It would be a good idea to let them produce content first, then we can nitpick it to death.

No they hyped the fuck out of it, promised screenshots, then post shit blurry photos of supposed screenshots. And then afterward say that they aren't showing any enhancements yet. At this point I doubt the "screenshots" they've released are even legit. Wouldn't be surprised if they're running under gemRB right now because they have nothing to actually show yet.
They've got 3-6 months before they release their "enhancements" and they've nothing to show for it. They're cryptic about any details. They lied about screenshots. And as far as I'm concerned they're being fuckall misleading about the whole mess.
Meanwhile, I'll continue playing it in widescreen and it still looks fine.
Yes, they were extremely misleading about the screenshots.
But they've been quite clear that there's no enhancements yet, they're not cryptic about that, at all.
And having "nothing to show for it" is pretty normal considering they finalized their deal for the game about 1-2 week before the announcement, meaning the development has been under way for a pretty short amount of time.
They've been misleading about "screenshots" (and what they consider screens) but "misleading about the whole mess" is really exaggerating.
It just feels like everyone is stuck in "I'M MAD" mode and taking everything personally.
(still, can't blame anyone for feeling left in the dark)

Not mad at all. But I don't trust them. They're being way too shady and cryptic. I think they're implying things that they won't have the time to do before their target release date. I wouldn't be surprised if what gets released is simply a port with widescreen support and any enhancements might come at a future time. We'll see. This will either make or break their future plans though (regarding PS:T and BG3)
The really sad thing is; I have lost all excitement for this. After the devs shameful handling of the publicity and downright callous disregard of the PC fanbase, teasing iPad images is bordering on insulting, I just simply don't care any more.
An enhanced update to Baldur's Gate.. and I don't care. God how depressing

Same here mate, the only interesting thing would be the low price...but at this point, we don't even know if the gameplay will be the same or not :S
Just finished replaying BG1 for the 3rd time.. I dont remember the battle with Sarevok being that hard. Jesus christ, you got one guy shooting fireball-arrows out of his bow at you, another guy casting chaos on you with no possible way to prevent it (no chaotic commands until you get cleric level 5 spells), and another guy that dispells all your buffs that took me 5 minutes to cast, in 2 seconds. Meanwhile Sarevok is raping the party with melee. It took me literally about 80 reloads and I consider myself a good BG player.
I think its because I dual-classed my level 8 fighter into a cleric and had only gotten to level 5 or 6 with cleric.
In all honesty this game had a terrible storyline, and the only party banter I got was when a party member (edwin) would leave if my reputation got too high. Has not aged well.
BG2 on the other hand.... playing through it again and it is as amazing as I remember.

Different eyes I guess. To me BG1 is still as epic as it was years ago. Both games, despite same engine, are really quite different to each other. BG1 is much more open compared to second game as you really aren't lead through areas as much as in BG2. Whole sword coast, with exception of the city and Cloakwood (fixed with tweeks) is open to you from the beginning. And there really is nothing like the city of Baldur's Gate in BG2. It is absolutely huge with miscellaneous quests behind every corner.
I really can't understand the hate, their official siteclearly states that the PC version will be taken in great consideration as it's important for them to focus on satisfying the old trusty fans as much as the new ones

I really don't need to consider it any longer.
These guys really know how to appeal to the PC crowd. Great marketing indeed.
Fuckers.

True but many of the miscellaneous quests were more like "fetch my boots" "fetch my magic cloak" "i left my gauntlets in a crate down by the docks" etc. Athkatla is much more interesting to me, and easier to keep track of as well thanks to Black Isle naming the different districts for me
