Obviously not new since universities have been playing with this stuff for decades, but besides DARPA, only Google is actually investing in stuff like this to get it out there and by the looks of it, a pretty huge amount as well. Me likey
Cool tech, but I don't want a fucking Prius - that thing is not very pretty..and the inside is far, far worse than the outside
Not to mention that I personally don't like driving it, far too "tame" for me :>
As for how it works, not sure really, but I'm guessing it uses some voice activated navigation. Or perhaps the idea is that users will pre-program it using a PC or something (which would allow a lot to be possible, braille for example). It seems to drive smoothly at least
