So ... what are chances of no crackfix at all? I'd love the game but it seems a proper crack would require a lot of effort and dunno if the scene hasn't given up by now.

TBH I don't think I'd enjoy it as much if I knew I had to pay for it when waiting a few days would let me get it for free. It's basically a rule for me - pirate anything that's piratable (i.e. except mmos, d3 and the like).

wut Shogun 2 is steamworks.
Just install the files into steam/steamapps/common/total war shogun 2 or something like that (whoever has the game currently installed can probably tell you the for sure name of the game folder if that's not it.) and then start the download. It'll verify all the files and download anything that doesn't mesh.
NO LINKS TO ILLEGAL STUFF IN SIGS - DLC IS ILLEGAL TOO

The protection and security mechanics are pretty harsh, even trainers cause really strange behavior if you attempt to use them apparently there's a lot of custom checks and not just the basic Steamworks integration stuff, but I don't know these things all that much though there's a variety of posts available about this.
Doesn't seem to hinder mods all that much though there's no official tools either so I guess things are a bit limited as is.
(Still there's a number of tweaks and other addons available.)

They have been trying to get rid of modders for a long time now, over many titles. Now they seem to be succeeding. The fact that mods such as Darth mod and the like, prove things are done better then the devs themselves can do. Infact they indeed hired some modders from the Medievil game to work on this one, and they still fucked up the AI... L0L

R6030 - CRT not initialized
EDIT: solved by unistalling Real Player 
crack seems fine (I butchered a half of my army using Gatling gun  ) |

Just because a game is better with mods, doesn't mean there's no reason to buy it when it doesn't have them.
