I know, but exploding on people is immature. I know I sometimes do it too, and I am not proud of it. Oh right, you do it to, and I am sure you don't like it either after the fact. Do you remember your countless rage bans? Why did they stop? You stopped raging. Likewise, KC has to stop.
I only raged once under pressure(and I just had a bad day) and did it in bitching section... becouse thats what this section is for right?
next day I apologized. That was only once and almost month ago. I think we don't need to drag this everytime someone talk about my posts right?
edit: I am happy that some people hold my side in those situations Those situations are also my fault and I know this but its good to have some lawyers

There is a lot of talk how games are being derped down because of multiplatform development. I recently saw a video that showed me another possibility: games are getting derp because developers listen to derp reviewers. Take a look at this recent video showcasing an old game (MGS2) where the journalists get stuck:
Do yourself a favor and watch the video until they finally figure it out....because they look it up in a FAQ
Well if that was the real problem they could always put a system like in monkey island remakes for the casual gamers! and the hardccore all they had to do was not to consult the help system and try to solve the puzzles themselfs.
Because people keep mocking and belittling him, knowing full well he eventually snaps and does something they can run off to teacher and tell on him about. IMO instigators should be banned for twice as long.
finally i'm not the only one saying that, got pretty god damn sick of trolls trying to weaponize the mods around here for their own personal agendas, thankfully it's been much less of a problem lately.
personally, got no problems with killer either way, it's the people who think the report post button wins you arguments that annoy me, thankfully you're all signing up for blizzard's real ID thing for D3

What's the point of making mods ban controversial people anyway? Without them it becomes boring and there is no one to troll.

a very good point, these forums are easily one of the most entertaining i've ever been a member of.
The way I see it it's due to three entwined causes -
1. Publishers want money. That's it. They don't give a rats ass about customer satisfaction (as long as it most likely won't majorly impact future sales), or product quality. Not in the slightest, and they never will. They would sell you shit in a box if their lawyers told them they could get away with it - with a smile on their face. Any publisher that tells you different is lying. This is by far the root cause, and only good things would come if they could be eliminated (not replaced) from the industry.
2. Developers are a mixed bag. While I believe the majority of the individuals on the team genuinely take pride in their work and want to deliver something worthwhile, somewhere up the chain something goes to shit.
My best guess is that it's usually due to threat of a publisher withdrawing funding, the head of a development studio caving to asinine demands by the publisher due to promised bonus figures, or just sheer laziness (DA2 reused assets for example - and don't give me that "they didn't have the time or manpower" bullshit argument. They did. They were lazy. That's all there is to it.)
3. Conforming to the lowest common denominator. This applies to both player base and hardware.
Publishers want developers to make games run on the entire hardware spectrum, blind (due to ignorance and lack of caring) to the fact that hardware is massively unequal in both processing power and control scheme. This is why PC has been getting the short end of the stick in terms of graphical fidelity and control schemes (lists instead of real inventory selection) for the better part of the decade now.
The same can be said of appealing to player base. Developers want every game to appeal to everyone. It's just not possible to achieve something like this and still be left with a quality game. The fact of the matter is PC players are simply not the same (both in terms of what they expect, as well as their statistical demographics) as their counterparts, and vice versa.
-The console crowd is younger and thus wants instant gratification and accessibility at ALL costs. Minimal back story and no long cut-scenes (unless it's Metal Gear solid, then this no longer applies, they'll pay $60 to watch a movie instead of play a game - sorry, couldn't resist the stab! ).
-The PC crowd is older, and generally puts more stock in general QUALITY over repetitive quantity. I'd go into detail here but there's really no need, seeing as where I'm posting.
That's not to say that the two groups don't sometimes overlap - they do. However, their wants, when taken as two separate groups, are fairly disparate from one another. The shotgun approach to game development won't work here, but it's all the developers can do under orders from their masters.
The only solution, as I see it, would be to either get rid of traditional publishers altogether (hopefully schemes like Kickstart grow in popularity and this will someday become a reality), or get rid of multi-platform development (ideal, but it will never happen).
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

no, sorry, this is just shit level- and game-design
crappy camera and hunting almost invisible pixels do not make a gamer dumb
first person camera or a lighter textured floor and this would not be a problem
i agree with the points made in this thread but this is just not a good example of it
failure in a game is supposed to be failure of the gamer
nothing is more infuriating than failure by design
Recently i downloaded Dirt 2 and 3, Grid etc etc to play a couple of race games in LAN mode to find out there is no way to add AI drivers. So i had to grab titles from 5 years and older. Such bullshit

as previously mentioned, derpified games sell because people hate dying/failing and by making the games easier people feel like they're bad ass and have mad skillz. I must admit I didnt like Demons Souls just because of the fact that it was so hard, but I also dont like the shallow derpified games of late. With the risk of sounding like a fan boy but path of exile is reminiscent of older pc games where you have to think and plan your build, have a good strategy for level progression.
Hopefully we'll see more and more kickstarter pc games void of greedy publishers, and considering more and more casual gamers are switching to tabloid/smartphone gaming and flash games I'd say we might get a second renaissance when it comes to quality pc games made for the master race...
Dont mess with God, he can impregnate your girlfriend/wife without taking his pants off!
People only remeber the good games of the past, and they were rare as in 3-4 releases in a year, just as today.
Gaming today is fine, although i don't expect that big traditional publishers have a lot to offer for serious gamers considering the trend of the past 5 years.
Indie games and smaller devs produce excellent games however and the average quality of games is higher then ever. The number of titles published is huge. When i was young a good game was one that: didn't crash to often and had acceptable game mechanics, but in general most games were crap. This is era now called the "golden age of pc gaming" btw.
The main problem is that mainstream gaming is getting more casual, not that there aren't good games being made.
Quake used to be a mainstream game. today that kind of gameplay will baffle 90% of people today. enemies that don't miss while you are on roller skates jumping 10 feet and shooting rockets. its not my fault i was a kid when those games were the shit.
Add some regen health, some cover, whoopla, modern gamer survives.
Kingdoms of amalur is an example i always use. vanilla game is so easy that the game becomes generic and boring. then i installed the heartcore mod and played the game for 177 hours.
there needs to be more scaling in modern games. i don't mind silly derps pressing A to win. but don't forget about people who grew up on video games and turned the industry into the giant it is today. we need challenge too. scalable difficulty, casual to fanatic, etc is needed. even if through mods. otherwise I will just keep avoiding generic blockbuster dubstep promo events they call games these days.
