We'll see how D3 turns out post-launch. I'm fairly optimistic though (except for the no-mods stuff...) as I thouroughly liked the beta so I'm almost a 100% sure I'll love the full game. It's the decisions after launch that will matter.

If any company is as bad as Ubishit is right now, it's Biowere/Biowhore. Especially after the scam with ME3.

Not really, they are just turning all their games into mmo's. This way it's not drm. They'll never learn.

Of course it's perfectly fine, Blizzard did it. This really is getting to be rather tiring.. is there ANYTHING Blizzard does that you people ever disagree with?

They do lots of things wrong. Don't take me for a blind fan. I just happen to disagree with you on that particular issue and agree with you on all the others you mentioned. I don't know what's more tiring, the fans or the haters.

In that case, I apologise. It's just grating to try and discuss something with the game and all you get back, all you get back one ANY Blizzard game, is "I disagree. I think it's perfect So Much Win" - grating really isn't the word, to be honest, it's downright irritating.

So the best tiers will only drop in hc mode? Or in hardcore mode? Or both together? Scratch Head

Hardcore is just a permadeath mode. The difficulty levels will be normal, nightmare, hell and inferno.

No clue, there has to be some sort of incentive to play hardcore (1 death = gameover) though.
Seems pretty self explanatory that the harder modes (nightmare, inferno, etc) will obviously drop better loot

Usually there isn't. I personally like to play HC purely for the challenge (but generally only with people I know and can rely on).

The incentive to play hardcore is the excitement that, 1 death = gameover, brings.

God damn it, now I'm torn over whether to roll a Monk or a Wiz in the retail. My FemWiz is all kinds of insane at damage dealing - especially AOE.

Male Wiz for me as well in retail. I generally role a magic user in the fantasy a/RPG's in the beginning. If it doesn't work out, I'll prolly go with some sort of support role or one that can be considered as such.

I'm going Demon Hunter main with Monk alt so I can share some Dex gear and have one ranged one melee char.

I really like the DH playstyle, the mobility is a lot of fun and I love ranged (non-magic) characters.

With D3 another incentive is the lack of a real money auction house.
so if you're one of those who does not want to play with others who may have bought their items with real money, you can play hardcore and be free of that.

Everyone I know who played D2 religiously before has played both Eastern Sun and MedianXL.

played the hell out of d2, i played with the two mods and others, but the main activity (90% of time) was hc char(s) on bnet. no mods obviously.

tbh, i want ui lua editing (which should be possible) vs total conversions/mods who mess with game files and core gameplay.

Yep, hardcore mode is strictly for the glory, and the thrill of the danger. Very Happy

I never really played D2 and this betas normal was so easy, I could've played with hardcore on my first run through it. (I died once, but that was because I left my PC to talk on the phone and was dead when some skeletons out of nowhere killed my char lol)

Maybe not during MP, but solo? Works just fine.

Aye, if I have to be forced into playing online.. I'm at least VERY grateful that you can still pause it in solo. Also doesn't seem to be an idle kick/disconnect either, unlike other online-only stuff.

yeah I was actually surprised when I played yesterday and pressed escape and noticed everything stopped.

it's of course just possible when playing solo but it's good that it's there considering they're forcing you to play online, so that's not an excuse for not offering pausing if you're playing it like an offline single player game.
