Is it even a new exe/dll or is it just bsa's replaced? Seems Reloaded forgot about this.

First beta release, tesv.exe (not the launcher this time though.) update.esm and update.bsa (Tons of new animation files and numerous other fixes plus one shader file.) and skyrim - misc.bsa (shader updates along with skyrim - shaders.bsa) but the interface bsa is left alone this time.

BSA compression should really be utilized by Bethesda, could save a few hundred MB and as it's loaded via RAM the performance impact is minimal.
(Skyrim uses some of it by default but some archives sees a 60 to 80% file size reduction, shaders bsa archive goes down to 1.5 MB for example.)

I'm having some graphic issue since I installed the beta patch, some vertical transparent lines appear on the screen when I'm looking at high grass, like shown in this picture:

Any ideas?

Looks like something with the new grass shader / shadows then, maybe some ini tweak, maybe even a mod but I find that unlikely, wonder what it is.
(There's a ATI Catalyst pixelation tweak on SkyrimNexus using a older driver file, I don't have that problem myself though and it's different to the above image.)

EDIT: Depends on what sort of shader stuff they do but it couldn't be due to modified grass textures could it?

Thanks for the quick reply JBeckman. I discarded a modified texture issue by renaming the textures folder and disabling texture esp files in the Skyrim launcher. I also deleted the config files so the game would re-create them and that didn't fix the issue either.

I'm suspecting the new grass shader thing but would you happen to know what the new cvars for that are?

There aren't any unfortunately, it's a modified shader file with some code changes in the exe (File just named with some numbers.) so the effect is always enabled with shadows on, possibly some combination of shadow settings but I use a number of ini modifications for shadows and I've not seen that effect from it.

Are you forcing some form of AA or AF?
(Or some performance or compatibility setting in the GPU settings, both ATI/AMD and Nvidia rely on these with their default settings though Nvidia has a few more of them exposed individually but then again it seems unlikely some form of texture filter or mip-map tweak would affect the shadow shader or what this might be.)

Maybe it's just some compatibility issue, if so the next beta update should hopefully resolve it unless a driver hotfix comes out and specifically mentions this issue.
(I can't say, currently I'm using Catalyst 12.3 and 12.3 CAP1 and everything is fine here despite people mentioning a variety of problems with certain games including Skyrim.)

Oh and are you using SLI or Crossfire? maybe there's something there too although if so it's probably down to a game issue.
(I don't think Skyrim was ever that good with Crossfire or SLI, drivers have helped out a lot but the game or game engine itself is a bit poor in this regard.)

It's getting pretty late here but I'll see if I can't search around and find something about it tomorrow morning. Smile

EDIT: Or forcing SSAO?
(Either via Nvidia or ENB.)

As might be obvious when it comes to PC support like this then there's usually a number of possibilities or at least I see it as so, troubleshooting usually comes down to assumptions and some guesses but I hope it's at least something to go by, maybe I can find something about this problem, you can't have been the only person whom has encountered some glitch or otherwise bug with 1.5, it is a beta update after all so there must be some additional testing required or some other fixes planned. Smile

Yes, I'm forcing AF and SSAO through nvidia inspector but that was one of the first things I tested (disabling them). I also tested disabling the ENB mod and FXAA but the issue was still there. I'm going to uninstall the beta patch so i can confirm if it's the cause of the issue for me.

EDIT: No SLI here.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Confirmed. I uninstalled the beta patch and the problem was gone. Like you said, it must be some compatibility issue with my drivers or something.

Gopher and MGE shoved the next one out.

Imaginator for Skyrim released!
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13049

Fiddle around with colors and saturation without the need of ENB and with no performance loss.

PS: I highly recommend to update to Skyrim Beta 1.5 before using this since it uses a spell to do the configuration. This may break the "General Stats" tab for you in lower versions.

PPS: Spell usage will be gone as soon as SKSE allows to get MCM working. The MCM (Mod Config Menu) is a ingame GUI where you'll be able to configure supported mods more easily.

This is the New Vegas version of MCM:

I found some posts mentioning similar issues, especially during night and weather, still nothing definitive but it's at least something.
(But how to fix it, unless it's a game engine bug with this first 1.5 patch release.)

can understand why so many players just don't want the game to end, everything is so simple, including combat and RPG elements, altogether with gorgeous landscapes, but combined together Skyrim becomes absolutely amazing

Which mod is the most optimal for increasing Dragon spawn rate? I want to fight more dragon than in vanilla version but not like every 5 minutes or after every fast-travel.

Failed Troll So, they didn't fix the transparent lines, bubbles on grass issues. Reading in the official Bethesda forums I realized I wasn't the only one experiencing this.

Apparently (according to the comments about the patch on this "Bethblog" site.) there's also new a bug with how killcams ignore the resistances of the target.
(Unsure if it's just the new ranged ones.)

EDIT: Creation Kit just updated, you can now use it again.
(It didn't work with 1.5 due to data changes.)

There's a ini setting that hints at this but there's a mod as well that guarantees it to work with multiple combatants active. Smile

EDIT: Ah it seems it was part of a larger mod and not a smaller separate file.
