Finally got around to watching this and I am soooo happy that it's was a great movie. Not just a great comicbook movie but a great MOVIE period.. Cinematography just rocked. Nolan can certainly create a great mood. Everything just worked for me. Acting was great, music was great because there is no real heroic Batman theme or anything like that, just a great old school soundtrack. Fights were close and brutal and everything just seemed like it almost could happen. It is on the realistic side, as much as a summer movie with a guy in a batsuit can be. Loved the little nod with the calling card at the end, not gonna ruin it for you but for people who have seen this... you know what I am talking about.

Highly recommended.

Couldn't agree more: loved the movie - good balance of fun and darker background story.

Hope they consider doing some more.

You don't get many average comic book movies; they either are really good or terrible.

Can't believe everyone loves this movie, I could barely stay awake. I grew up with Batman, the cartoons, the movies (only the first two were good) but this film really pissed me off. That new cheap batmobile sucks Sad

all in the name of realism...

I thought having batman use a prototype military vehicle that never made it into production was an *excellent* idea.

If you can tell me where the hell batman would get his old bat mobile in the real world, then you might beat my argument.

But you can't Smile

To the equilibrium guy: yeah I liked it too, you could tell it was on a tight budget (it had the tv-movie feel...) but I think they did ok with what they had...

if your a christian bale fan (or not, either way) i highly recommend the machinist...

There are different aspects of realism.

What he was saying was that it seemed more realistic to have a real military vehicle as a batmobile, than some weird unique construction (as in the previous movies).

I doubt he thinks this is a realistic movie.

Yes, yes I'm back.

I think that Cheez is saying that of all the ways Batman could have obtained such a high-tech vehicle, one of the more realistic explanations would be a military prototype.

To avoid suspicion, you could hardly just have a bespoke vehicle made for you, could you? Look at the trouble they took when ordering other parts i.e. through dummy companies / buying large quantities.

What, specifically, are you saying wasn’t realistic? Throughout history there have been vigilantes type characters that have strove to defend the vulnerable for the greater good. There are legends and fables throughout most countries history depicting such heroes - Robin Hood in England and Janosik in many Slavic countries.

If such a thing were to happen in this day and age, I reckon they did a pretty decent job in making Batman a believable, flawed character (not the paradigm of perfection aka Adam West) and brought many of the pure comic book elements (Batcave, suit, gadgets) down to earth by showing the struggle and process involved in obtaining them. The mask as a symbol to inspire fear was a nice touch and something used by countless cultures across centuries to raise an individual beyond his physical form and distinguish from the common, mortal man –( African tribes/ witchdoctors/ Egyptian Gods/ etc. etc.)

Maybe I am missing something? Would you like to outline how exactly you find this interruption so unrealistic?

I downloaded the soundtrack for Batman Begins a week or so ago and it's excellent. Also it's done by Hanz Zimmer and Newton. I forget Elfman's theme though. If someone can find at least one track from it I'll compare it.

basically what i am saying is... this is batman *BEGINS*

how would you explain a batmobile similar to the one from the first batman movies??

ps: while i don't think it's a perfect, i think the movie stays pretty close to reality, and when it strays, it is (at least in my opinion) believable. Could someone invent a neurotoxin that induces overactivity of the amygdala, along with some other chemical that induces hallucination? yes.

I think the only thing I really questioned was the thing that evaporated the water around it. perhaps someone in a field that would cover that sort of thing would know more about whether it's possible or not...

Yes, I am this nerdy Stop by and say hello

I have a HUGE movie score collection (im a soundtrekker) and im happy, to show you his theme. I completly forgot about batman begins soundtrack was released about 2-3 weeks ago, you know where. I got it, and as always howard delivers Smile

I finished batman begins on xbox, and I thought the music was from the movie score, but it's not.. That theme I heard reminded me a bit of elfman.

But that's what comic books are all about!!! FICTION! Fuck realism! We don't want a realistic Batman! He already lacks any kind of powers so why take away his awesome Bat-Mobil and cool gadgets and replace it with a TANK and some metal crafted bat boomerangs?!

The beauty of comic books is non-realism! And for those who say "I liked it because it shows a Batman that could exist in our world" I say bullcrap! If a guy would dress up in a bat suit and start rescuing people, the next suit he would be wearing is the white suit!

I used ( Vcd TS for missing 16 min 42secs )
And Russian DVDR Source For Rest Of The Movie ( Came Out Awesome )
And Direct Audio Dolby For The Russian ( use the VCD TS )
Audio as well Tweaked it a bit was bit too loud LOL
