Messiah was awesome! ..And very underrated too. It was bashed because of the bugs and difficulty spikes, but I really liked it, it had good ideas and was very fun to play

No worries, I love reading the posts at the Hump so I can at least contribute that way. :]
Let's hope the game is good, it has a potential.

Game is a direct port, cannot even use mouse on menu. Hell even the controls setting is not even configurable, and just shows a xshit controller.

Seems this uses UE3, managed to enable a few things but as covered above the game is mostly via keyboard / gamepad only, though it does show the input icons for what you are using (Albeit some were a bit hard to get at first like Backspace which is used for canceling stuff.) also can be tweaked fairly extensively, even DX10 and DX11 can be enabled (MSAA works with the DX11 path too, crashes on the others.) however the shadows do not support that so you'll get square boxes instead, unfortunately.
Game mechanics are fairly simple, you're this blob based (electrical?) alien taken to a base and experimented on, quickly escaping and regaining abilities to for example take over a object or even character either for movement or puzzle solving or even for combat by exploding the item/character from within.
Various traps and the levels start out pretty linear but there's a number of hidden extras to discover although it will require more than one playtrough since you don't have the required abilities at first.
(I only upgraded to silent movement so far, proved to be really helpful.)
Subtitles are forced off for some reason and can't be enabled but it's fairly understandable despite the somewhat quiet voice acting and mumbled dialogue and there's not much conversation either, that other being you make contact with early on communicates in text only so you'll always know clearly what he said.
(Various hints often or comments on situations, traps and so on.)
Unsure how long the game is, seems to go depend on how you explore and how the puzzle solving goes, might not be that long otherwise, wasn't it a XLBA / PSN title?
(Not that those are always bad or such but there are some limitations imposed.)
Not sure what else to say, it's a interesting little platform / puzzle game in my opinion.
(Even if published by EA and held back on the PC release, exe is dated 6th January for example.)
