I think it's 43$ US, for an 18 month subscription, and they are giving 6 months for free since it's the beta, so I am assuming that they will go gold in 6-8 months time. They've had now 2 updates to the beta, latest build is.60

My final conclusion after messing with the graphics settings... you NEED a gtx 580 for it, or CF/SLI to really pump up the FPS with proper eye candy otherwise it's rubbish, at least for me. I mean, I think they will optimize it obviously but still the graphics are heavier than any other racing game that's out.

Not true, I have a tiny 570GTX and all is fine at full setting @ 1080p
Seriously, it's surely GPU/CPU hungry but it still has better rendering than any other racing game out there.
Also the game is far from release, so yes optimizing will help and a new rig for christmass 2012 will help too
Serious Rig: CPU : Ryzen7 9800X3D | GC : NVIDIA RTX 5080 FE | Mobo : MSI MPG Carbon X870E | RAM : 64GB DDR5 TridentZ5 Neo 6000 | Case : Fractal Define 7 XL | Cooler : Fractal Celcius S28 Prisma | PSU : Corsair RX1000 Shift | Monitor : LG Oled C2 42" 4K/G-Sync
Mobile Rig : Asus ROG751 JT | i7-4720HQ | GTX 970m | 16GB DDR3 \ G-Sync
Just for the LUL: PS4 Pro / Nintendo Switch / Wii U
$team, Orishit, Upay, PSN : Athlonic

I think what he means is you need nVidia to enjoy the proper eye candy.
Both Shifts are much better optimized for nV hardware, and this is the same engine. Remember then the first game came and it would run at 15fps capped on AMD hardware? Required 6 months just to fix that.

My poor 4870 The wait was excruciating..
Unleashed ran very bad too, less than 30fps with everything set on low (at Nextgen 720p of course ).

What you mean ran very bad? 30fps @ 720p is exactly what the console derpas enjoyed.

We're really two completely different worlds, the game was almost unplayable for me with those settings, with lag and jaggies everywhere (still better than GT5 though! )

Wait, I have " " my head here. I have played the original game on my 4870x2 and it was playable at 60 fps at 1080p. And I remember I disabled CFX because there was flickering of textures, and it still worked rather well. How can the second be so slow on same 4870?

I have no idea, really..probably it was the new render engine with the deferred lighting that was so heavy. Shift 1 ran at 50-60 fps at high details with my old e6600+4870 (1GB), whereas Unleashed barely reached the 30fps at low details. Bah

No, the fan doesn't kick at high speed at all actually. Can't remember the last time it was a vacuum cleaner.
On the other hand, the 4870x2 Now that was a test of my patience.

I'd wait for the 680 to come out for prices to drop.
