I think it's 43$ US, for an 18 month subscription, and they are giving 6 months for free since it's the beta, so I am assuming that they will go gold in 6-8 months time. They've had now 2 updates to the beta, latest build is.60

A little update, again Smile
New build is coming out tomorrow, and it's bringing some cool stuff. More tracks, new car, bunch of fixes (sound, physcics, etc.)..

And, now a bit of TimeCycle and Weather System screens. Ready?

 Spoiler:

Andy Garton:
"I had to share these with you guys - some wip track images from Michal. There are a lot of rough edges with the track itself at this stage but more importantly they show the potential of some simple lighting tweaks using the live editing suite. All of these are unedited in-game shots."

Oh, and be sure to check out the new community gallery:

My final conclusion after messing with the graphics settings... you NEED a gtx 580 for it, or CF/SLI to really pump up the FPS with proper eye candy otherwise it's rubbish, at least for me. I mean, I think they will optimize it obviously but still the graphics are heavier than any other racing game that's out.

Not true, I have a tiny 570GTX and all is fine at full setting @ 1080p Cool Face

Seriously, it's surely GPU/CPU hungry but it still has better rendering than any other racing game out there.
Also the game is far from release, so yes optimizing will help and a new rig for christmass 2012 will help too Wink

Both Shifts are much better optimized for nV hardware, and this is the same engine. Remember then the first game came and it would run at 15fps capped on AMD hardware? Laughing Required 6 months just to fix that. Laughing

My poor 4870 Crying or Very sad Laughing The wait was excruciating..

Unleashed ran very bad too, less than 30fps with everything set on low (at Nextgen 720p of course Laughing).

What you mean ran very bad? Scratch Head 30fps @ 720p is exactly what the console derpas enjoyed. Laughing Laughing

Did they even GET 30fps though?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/xbox-360-vs-ps3-face-off-round-22-face-off?page=3

Quote:

First up there's the rather exaggerated bloom that has been added to the PS3 version. Quite why this has been dialled up is any one's guess; it doesn't really add anything to the game. It certainly doesn't disguise the fact that the PS3 game tears more, and drops to lower frame-rates than its 360 equivalent when the engine is under load.

We're really two completely different worlds, the game was almost unplayable for me with those settings, with lag and jaggies everywhere (still better than GT5 though! Laughing)

Wait, I have "Scratch Head" my head here. I have played the original game on my 4870x2 and it was playable at 60 fps at 1080p. And I remember I disabled CFX because there was flickering of textures, and it still worked rather well. Smile How can the second be so slow on same 4870?

Oh yes sorry, I forgot that AMD graphics card still exists. Laughing

I have no idea, really..probably it was the new render engine with the deferred lighting that was so heavy. Shift 1 ran at 50-60 fps at high details with my old e6600+4870 (1GB), whereas Unleashed barely reached the 30fps at low details. Bah Very Happy
