I haven't said that.

There is a great talent in creating humor in art, I just don't like it myself!

Thats not the same as saying humor can be art. You seem to view it as an unwanted byproduct of other pieces of art.

Well, humor comes from human emotion (and even worse, it might evoke emotions Shocked ). There is no empiric truth to emotions. Laughing

Try and view it from Spocks perspective. Now you see there is no logic in humour!

Hahahah spot on. Laughing

I believe both of you haven't gotten my point, there is humor in most of those art pieces (not all though Wink ), although not of those are humor oriented, they use humor in certain instances, but for the most part, drama is the main engine of their plot devices, humor becomes a secondary or even tertiary tool used for the most distinct reasons.

What I categorically dislike is humor being used as the primary plot tool in art, which is what iNatan seemed to imply about *The Artist*.

I don't understand why you and zipfero got so jumpy about my post, I believe we can all agree that there will always be some undeniable masterpieces that some of us won't personally enjoy.

There's a difference between saying that I dislike humor and saying that humor is categorically bad.

I remember some persons a few years ago, in another forum, suggesting me to watch Firefly, and although I was capable of recognizing the quality of the show, I was just unable to bring myself to enjoying it.

Taste is subjective and it doesn't say anything of the inherent quality of the piece!

if they stayed with animation all the way then it'd be a 10/10
it's a typical disney/pixar movie but the live actors can't do the face expressions to evoke the emotion that's known from pixar / disney movies. Crying or Very sad great story. some twists that actually got me. gonna pick up the books.

Bittersweet story, I especially liked the kid who played Sid. He was brilliant!
Also the older daughter was finger licking hot

Fucking great Norwegian movie. Haven't read the book by Jo Nesbo, but the story was really good and twisting, and it was not really forseeable what would happen next. I really liked the choice of actors. Can definitely recommend!

Annoying at times, but most horror movies are... overall pretty good. Original, but you sort of get that "phone both" feeling after awhile. And right after that it turns more interesting Smile

Extremely Loud Incredibly Close - 7.5/10
Sweet movie with nice ending.

Both are really awesome films! I was quite taken away just how much I liked Max Manus when I first saw it. Makes the Danish WWII resistance look kind of bad in comparison Very Happy

That has looked bad since 40. More Danes fighting for the Germans than against them.
But lucky for us a few brave souls did fight back, so we didnt end up being collaborators in the eyes of the allies (even if we where).

Other good Norwegian movies are: Dead Snow and Fritt Vilt - 2 fun horrors. Insomnia later remade by Nolan. But my favorite is by far: A somewhat gentle man.
Ive talked about it here before, but that pushes all the right buttons for me and Skarsgård is just fantastic - see it. And then we have Pinchcliffe Grand Prix a timeless classic still.
