Oh look, there's a shocker.. a so-called "challenging" mod that doubles enemy damage and halves player damage! Wow! Never ever could have guessed that!

Yawn.

indeed, sometimes their combat system feels a bit strange, for example the first big boss Balor was unable to take one single HP form my perso, while groups of bleuettes with their champion are so bitchy, lol.

That's because fighting a single enemy, even if it's a boss, is much easier than fighting a group. I find a group of champion sprites much more challenging than a lonesome mountain troll.

How about group of 4 trolls (brown named)? Encountered it last night while I was protecting some chick (mission activated after completed lore stones for that area). Sorry for detailed description but my understanding of the story in this game is the same as understanding plot of the porn (story is something that is happening until hero pulls his sword/dick out ). I generally get lost in the story after some time in all new games. No matter how shallow story is after some time I don't have idea what is going on.

My experience tells me that you are near to buy a gamepad for PC and maybe a console. Very Happy

I knew it was coming but totally wrong. I even play PES without controller using keyboard and all 10 fingers (instead of just a thumb when you use controller you need four fingers for directions). I am dedicated gamer since 80s and always had a problem with a story. It is not console exclusive to be shallow and superficial player. I like good gameplay, good ideas, nice animations, atmosphere... For example I couldn't care less about upcoming story in ME3 but was upset when I saw Shepard running like he was just LexSteeled.

With that Speccy avatar you could only be a dedicated gamer since 80's.
I know it's not exclusive to console, but let's say that the numbers are on their side. Besides there's a "philosophy" to video games that belongs more to the console crowd than to the computer one.
But I was just kidding, a Speccy gamer has always the right gamer pedigree for me. Wink

Well I sold my ZX Interface 1 and 2 with a Microdrive and bought an Atari 800XL. But I saw the light a couple of days after, and end up selling the Atari and exchanging it by a C64. Smile
I still have my Speccy.

It does get boring though, there's just too little variety. The longer you play it, the more the low production values are "in your face". I mainly concentrate on the MQ and faction quests now since doing the SQs gets boring fast and will make you overpowered (which in turn makes the combat boring). I had big fun for 40 hours or so, so that's fine, still a 8/10 game.

P.S. RA Salvatore must be a really shitty writer if this is the best he could come up with.

+1 it does get boring and repetitive. Played about 20hrs and haven't touched it since. This is an RPG designed mostly for 13 year olds.

If you liked the demo, you'll love the game itself. The demo area is the worst part. Just don't go playing it non-stop, it'll get boring. I woudn't pay 50 bucks for it though, 30 seems reasonable. Patch support also seems to be crap since they've been promising several minor fixes since release day. They've done zilch.

That exactly my thoughts.I got bored quickly (Its the first time that happens to me not to finish a game i started , i always start a game and finish it then install another and finish it ,never play another game until i finish what i am playing , one game at a time) But this one , i dont know why i have got that feeling that i am not eager or interested to continue playing although my expectations were VERY high and i was interested in the new world they introduced and wanted to know more about it and i was very excited to play it prior the game release!!

I Am Disappoint

I too lost motivation.

Did all the sidequests and stayed away from mainquest until it took me to a new area then did all sidequests there.

I like the fact that when exploring i can kill everything in a cave, get some phat loot and then when i get back to the vilage, the quest giver says "Oh, go kill... oh no wait, you already did, thanks"

But sometimes i have to go back to the same fricking cave 2-3 times.

Anyway, i stopped playing somewhere after webwood, and haven't bothered to play again.

yeah that's why i didn't really get why so many people go so excited over this, it was designed to be an MMO and instead of the trashbin it got released as singleplayer, that tells me it's going to be one hell of a boring, lonely slog of forcing yourself through the game.

I think you must be in the middle of the game or approx. Didn't use the crafting skill at all, rather have maxed the Observation and Barter competences, but it's almost the same.
Crazy game tell you, you got intense battles against some mages in the last two continents, really need to get nerves and some potions against them. Anyway, just try to wait until the "Rage" bar to be full (the violet one) and then, just go butchering them all Very Happy

Amalur kinda of reminds me of the Sacred games, though not having a world so big as Sacred had.

The amount of fights is really excessive in this game. Now that I'm in Klurikon I'm getting very bored since I have to fight a niskaru tyrant every two minutes. Backtracking in dungeons is also pissing me off. A lot in this game is specifically designed to waste time which is very bad design IMO. I think I'll stop with this game now, the endgame parts are not nearly as fun as the beginning was,
