To those of you who are playing on a JTAG/RGH - have you encountered a disc swap requirement yet? What happens? Im on the latest FSD, and I wanna know if it swaps discs itself or if it crashes..

Yes, for me it crashes immediately when I enter a side quest.

... and yes, I kept playing in spite of not wanting to, guess I'm an ME-fan after all. Wink

So how do you go around it? Is it possible?

I'm not sure, I am currently re-downloading the ISO's to try and make god-containers out of them. Having the game in two separate folders worked with LA NOIRE (with freestyledash), but apparently not with ME3.

I play on my Jtag, but i set up the automatic disc swap before starting to play. Disc swapping works flawlessly.

Apparently you're supposed to do something like this:

<game_name>\Disc 1
<game_name>\Disc 2
.
.
.
etc.

And set your FSD2 to scan depth 4

Nope.

Just the file structure is needed. According to the very thread you linked the swap.xex even collides with newer versions of FSD2.

But have you tried with the correct file/path structure? Does it still crash?

I'm transfering disc 2 now to my external usb hd, will report back if it failed within 15min. If I don't report back... well, then it worked. Wink

And the retarded quest system, map at times, never getting correctly in cover or jumping out of cover at the worst times.

Why is the quest system retarded? Its pretty much identical to ME2...
Some of the quests on the other hand are quite unspecific, but rather that than a arrow that tells you where to go. Most of the quests give enough info imo.

thats what they don't do. You run past a crowd and get loads of quests if you don't pay attention and if you check those quests you only see this and that guy wants this and that item, but not more specific most of the times, and quest system being in ME2 doesn't make it less retarded. I have a pointer on my map to meet Miranda in the a room, but she's not even there :S whats up? And i got a quest to save a ambassador from Cerberus bounty hunters, but the area where the map says he is only has locked doors and i get a hint that they are about to shoot him. I don't think we even get quest failed if that happens.

Well, getting quests that way might be a little annoying to some, but most of the quests you get a decent amount of info Smile But yeah, it might just be a cheap way of Bioware to cover up the lack of quests... because iv used more time than iv liked on some of the side quests :/

Miranda will be back... just do something else for awhile.

I got a letter from her to meet her on the citadel. Thats why im looking for her. Already met her once, so this is the second time, if she ever appears.

Edit: Just found out about the quest that annoyed me before. It got bugged so i had to restart several times until it worked.

Played a couple of hours and I have mixed feelings. Graphics and sound are nice. as always, same goes to voice actiong. Music is a bit worse(more mainstreamy cinematic feel) but still allright.
Most of things we were complaining before game release are true. Ashley looks like shit. Nothing like that nice girl to romance in me1 Laughing
Overall some people look different and weird. but there is no film grain and they applied antialiasing! game looks very smooth and runs the same.

Quest system is a toatal mess. Overall I hate it. I am walking around and suddenly I have 3 more quest in my quest log. Just from hearing news or conversation.
It is a bit messy overall. It is more linear than ME2 and more mainstreamed (but not easier-about that in a moment)
oveall I am enjoying it and its too soon to judge.

Importing save system works perfect tho. You start with all the abilities and level that You left ME2 with! and chooices offcourse. Its done very well.
When does the disc1 ends? I am out of verbs Laughing

One major complain. Is it only me or is the game got really much darker than ME2 or1? I mean.. that type of high contrast shit darker. Its acting weird on my eyes...

It got darker, it's the "new" lighting system and yeah, it looked shit on the PS3 version of ME2 :\ More linear than ME2, you say? I guess Bioware didn't learn jack shit then. Oh well, a pirate's life for me!

I am not far yet so I am not sure about that linera stuff. But if going on side quest between main mission(which are linear) is nonlinear, then it is not nonlinear... Very Happy

I like the new clean look with antialiasing etc but new lighting system looks like normandy and most of places have a direct intervention of Europe Union and had to remove their 100W bulbs and change to 20 or 50W. Or those low energy bullshit bulbs

yeah I noticed that too, but I thought it was my tv because I had bought a new one recently.

I thought it was just my settings that was off and I just couldn't get it right... but it's the game's fault! good to know

Honestly i think people are overreacting, but it's not unusual to see rage about small things such as this on the humps. Game has plenty of shitty features, but to me, this game stays true to the series this far. Would have liked to be a bit more in control of the dialogue and having a cleaner quest system where you are updated if you complete a quest instead of having to remember everything. I easily forget in games with so much different things to do. Sometimes i find someone i can talk to and he keeps talking and i wonder "what the hell was this quest again?" Laughing but that is my problem Razz

And Killercrocker, you get a disc swap request pretty early in the game.
