I think it could work even as additional content, something like Assassin's Creed III: Modern Warfare DLC where terrorists steal the Animus and Desmond in order to take it back joins the Army and becomes a national hero restoring the American Dream.

No... no... illegal immigrants stealing our classic repetitive Assassin's Creed sidequests. At least we wouldn't have to do them that way.

Hmmm interesting. Not.
It's been Biowarized? As if the combat system was complex..

Successful defense enables counters, I think.
Similar stuff was already there.

From what I saw, their combat system was already being heavily influenced by Rocksteady's Arkham games.
Not BioWare.

I hope you can at least "aim toward" the enemy you want to attack just like in Batman, if it actually go and attack the wrong side all the time I'm gotta get pissed.

To be honest, the CQC looks a lot better than in the previous series, and so does traversing around stuff.
Quote: | A redesigned approach to traversal has players leaping and climbing trees and mountain cliffs with the same ease with which they'll still clamber along churches, forts, and city walls. |
Climbing trees is confirmed.
About CQC, it actually seems it will be harder in a sense.
Quote: | Every one of Connor's thousands of animations have been created especially for him- there's no carryover from previous games. |
Which is great, ACR brought some very nice animations, but many of them were rehashed even from AC1!
Quote: | You tab the B or circle button to counter, but the constant presence of two weapons (like a tomahawk and a knife) opens the possibility to double counters when multiple enemies attack at once |
So basically they ripped off Batman, but that is actually good.
Quote: | As you attack, the game now automatically detects your targets without the need for any clumsy target locking. |
See above. The targeting system WAS clunky. I'm glad they change it to a more Batmanish approach.
Quote: | Counter and defenses are mapped to the same button, so you can't turtle up under a flurry of blows. |
That's actually also really good. In AC2, ACB, and ACR (until you met janissaries) you could just hold right mouse button (block) indefinitely and you were basically god. No one could break the block. Now when it's the same button, it seems you can't just hold it indefinitely but you have to time the block the same way as you had to time counters, if you didn't time it right you'd get hit.
Quote: | New context-sensitive actions allow you to perform moves like grabbing soldiers and using them as human shields when troops fire their muskets |
Another new interesting mechanic.
Quote: | Momentum and continuous movement even characterize assassinations that have you charging a protected target. Now when your assassin runs through a crowd of defenders to reach his prey, he won't stop at each kill, but instead leap and catapult off of each victim of his blade as he makes a beeline for his actual target |
That sounds bloody fantastic, there were many moments in AC games where there were 20 guards near you and Ezio just jumped and hugged the guy like a derp, instead of being on the run.
Regarding the setting:
Quote: | As you move through the wilderness over the course of the three decades in which teh game takes place, the world will change around you. Battles will take place in their historical locations one year, but months later you'll only find the shells of encampments left behind. Day and night will come and go, but so too will winter and summer, every environment in both the Frontier and the cities is built so it can appear in the bright greens of summer, as well as under a cold blanket of snow in winter.. |
That is downright amazing IMO. I love this change!
Code: | Moving through the snow, Connor's animation shifts to match the depth in a given location; it's not a texture on the ground, but a fundamental change in the terrain. In the worst weather, enemies will trudge and stumble through the drifts. |
I am VERY hyped for this game right now.

Yeah. This is going to be the game that AC2 was to AC1. Improved in every single way.

The customization of your appearance in confirmed, so the "standing out" problem is probably nonexistent since you can color your outfit.
And yeah, I guess he'll stand out, but then again, so did Ezio in every AC.
I guess they could redesign him, but I think a lot of people got so familiarized with the hood and overall design of the attire, that it would be a stupid move to completely drop it.

Oh and they didn't need to completely drop the design, just alter it a bit. But why bother, right?

Rockstar "altered" the appearance of Max Payne in MP3. And there's a lot of people whining about it.

So to cater to OCD derpaderps, they use something that would only serve for the entertainment of the armies? So AWESOME, isn't it NEON? Oh an so cool the American flag waves while you kill people because AMERICA FUCK YEAH! SO BAD ASS!
Perhaps it's intentional, he comes, his target and the guards starts having a laugh, and so the only way the new assassin can come close to stab an 18th century warrior with a hidden blade in his arm instead of shooting him.

I thought this was gonna be another rehashed AC, but after seing those screenshots i'm trully hyped. It seems a big step, at least in terms of location design and diversity. Being European and hating most of the American bullshit, i do love history, and i can't wait to play in that setting.

It was not as bad as this. The more modern the era is, the more ridiculous it is. And I did say it about AC2 as well, but was no where as dramatic as this.
And of course, fanderps gonna derp. 20-30 guards with muskets will of course all take aim one by one and miss, so that Hurr can attack them with a sword from close up (with auto sword targeting).

I know that the game is meant to played with gamepads but I still can't understand why they don't make it at least optional. Hell, free aiming could boost the entertainment factor by a couples of notches for me, everything would be much more entertaining...
I'm a bloody assassin, with tons of lethal gadgets, I don't need someone to lock on targets and aim for me like a derpaderp :/
