Is this all promotional material? Seems very much like: "we're not confident in our gameplay, so if you're gay, buy this, because here you can be gay"... Just like selling games with tits and movies with exploshunz.

The engine that the Mass Effect series runs on, the Unreal Engine, can only process so many "skeletons" at once.
What a skeleton is is the thing that causes characters to move the way they do. That's why the female shepard runs like a dude. Its using the same skeleton. They can't do female aliens because the engine is literally incapable of using too many of them, and that isn't Bioware's fault.
There are lots of things to criticize Bioware for, but this is not one of them. |
Wow. I. Did. Not. Know. That. The. Unreal. Engine. Was. Not. Capable. Of. Processing. More. Than. One. Skeleton. Or. Something. I. Have. No. Idea. What. I'm. Talking. About. |
This cited explanation ain't for real, right? There were plenty of NPCs in DA2 (including crew members) and everyone of them had their own discrete animation. As for protagonists: three classes to choose from x 2 genders = 6 combinations in total. That's way more than in Mass Effect.
Or other example, Batman Arkham City. Plenty of important characters, like Batman, Catwoman (with her hawt cat-like movement), Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face and so on... and I don't remember any complete animation sets being copied exactly 1:1 between anyone.
So WTF Biowhore? Why is Jane Shepard moving exactly like John Shepard? Are you that fucking lazy?

I am afraid of this game. I finished ME1 and 2 multiple times and I am really into story. I am yet to finish all important dlc for me1 and me2(more important).
I cant do this on 360 where all my paragon saves are (becouse I dont have jtag, so if I will play me3 there, My character will be pure me1->me2->me3 importet character without and dlc, mordin and tali as Far as i rememebr)
while I could download Paragon save for pc to me1 and me2 just as those I have on 360 and finish DLC onto them and then play me3 on pc
There is not much other games where I feel obligerated to finish 40hours of previous games to be ready for me3. Its bad choice. They should make, saves editor on start of ME3, which there will not be.
And everytime i will want to replay me3, other way around, with other choices, I will have to finish last 2 games accordingly...
I COULD jsut not give a fuck and finish ME3 as it is, without any importing but I am afraid that that some default drops from previous games will be bad. I want all my squad alive and romance with Ashley from first game + Wrex alive etc

There's Gibbed's Mass Effect 2 savegame editor on gcw ("Mass Effect 2 SAVEGAME EDITOR v25"), you can generate your own savegame as you like and continue that in ME3.

Yup! I'm surprised you hadn't tried Gibbed's editor sooner. It's excellent =) Get this one though, it's an updated copy with a few extra options;

For premade saves, covering pretty much every option imaginable, just in case you don't want to faff around with Gibbed Editor.

Why do you assume Bioware doesn't listen to its fanbase? All their games sell, so they must be catering to the majority of their fanbase. I do not like where they're heading and I personally don't give a shit anymore about BW, but saying "they don't listen to anyone" doesn't make any sense.

I decided against buying it when they announced it became apparent that it'd be Origin exclusive.
Then came the whole DLC crap and now, after playing the demo?
Fuck that. I'm not paying 50-60€ for that. I'll gladly pirate it and once EA decided that Origin was a horrible idea and they put it on steam? Gonna pick it up in a sale xD

The thing that bugs me the most is the fact Bioware doesn't give a shit anymore about the product they make. You can't feel the passion behind their games, just a cold corporate chill, with only one goal - more money. A lot of developers seems to forget that the process of making games must be done with interest, you have to like what you do, and in the end be a fan of your own creation.Such a game is The Witcher 2 from the more recent ones, also Alan Wake, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
And people wonder why so much indie games gather such attention these days...
