That would imply that Bioware actually care about tailoring to specific platforms..

Just saying. As I recall ME2 was out 2 weeks before the initial release. Can hope for the best.

To be precise, ME2 came out only 5 days before its street release date.

There's a russian language release on IPTorrents, no idea if it's legit, appears to be though, but doesn't seem to have the preorder extras.

Did anyone compare the texture files from the final release against the demo one? To see if maybe they are bigger thus improved.

Actually no, that's not the reason.

The engine that the Mass Effect series runs on, the Unreal Engine, can only process so many "skeletons" at once.

What a skeleton is is the thing that causes characters to move the way they do. That's why the female shepard runs like a dude. Its using the same skeleton. They can't do female aliens because the engine is literally incapable of using too many of them, and that isn't Bioware's fault.

There are lots of things to criticize Bioware for, but this is not one of them.

Wow. I. Did. Not. Know. That. The. Unreal. Engine. Was. Not. Capable. Of. Processing. More. Than. One. Skeleton. Or. Something. I. Have. No. Idea. What. I'm. Talking. About.

I wonder what will be initial chooices in ME3 for person without saves

Hmm... probably ME1 choices will be completely opposite from those done by ME2 default Shepard.

Like Wrex dead in ME2.

And then alive in ME3.

For the LuLz. Very Happy

Uncracked retail dvd's are already showing up on the usual places(PC and derpbox). So it prolly won't be long before someone cracks it, especially if there's a ruskie copy floating out in the wild. But I've got mine on preorder as well, so meh. I enjoyed the first two and bought those as well.

How will the level cap stuff work? If I import my old ME2 char I start at the level he was on, and what about if I don't import one? Do I start at 1 or do I need to set up skill points for the next 30-or-so levels?

Anyone got an idea?

Pretty sure they do as in ME2, you just get a resource and money bonus depending on character level and difficulty played on.
(And of course the main reason being that your choices carry over, mostly intact.)

EDIT: Ah, interesting. Smile

From what I've heard, you keep your current level. The cap has been raised from 30 to 60 in ME3 .. so finally a character transfer actually keeps your progress!

Yeah I've heard that too, that's why I'm wondering what happens if I don't import a char. I'd actually like to start at 1 and level up all the way up to 60.

But I'm not sure how the game handles that. Maybe the xp distribution is adjusted based on which level you start on? (i.e. I don't want to start at lvl 1 and be stuck at level 30ish when I end the game). Or maybe the game just forces you to be at least level 30 when starting?

You probably start with all the points an imported character would start, free to distribute those points at the beginning.

@Bearish

I'm also not keen on having half the levelling done for me, but at least it's done for a reason and makes sense carrying over from the first game.

@Famou

I finished a full ME2 run just two days ago, in order to have a proper - complete - save game ready for ME3.

@Mister_s

Certainly makes sense that way.

Found the answer:

"You cannot reach level 60 without an ME2 import or NG+ in #ME3"

Guess I'll import then. Don't feel like getting stuck at lower lvl.

How many of you have already pre-ordered ME3? Just asking. I'm currently playing ME1 and it looks promising.
I own both ME1 and 2 btw.
